I’m really impressed with the Amazon Basics Gel Odor Eliminator Activated Charcoal Lavender Scent 17 Oz. It does a great job of neutralizing unwanted odors rather than just masking them. I’ve tried a lot of air fresheners that just mask smells with an even stronger floral or chemical scent, but this Amazon Basics Gel Odor Eliminator is different. I’m really sensitive to fragrances, and I was happy to find that this truly has no perfume smell. What I liked: Truly Fragrance-Free: It doesn’t have that "unscented" chemical odor either. It just neutralizes the air in the room. Effective: I put this in a small mudroom where we keep shoes and a litter box, and it made a noticeable difference within a few hours. Easy to Use: You just peel the seal and let it sit. The activated charcoal seems to do a great job of pulling odors out of the air. One minor thing: Size/Longevity: It works great for small to medium spaces, but for a very large room, you might need more than one. I also noticed the gel shrinks down fairly quickly if it's in a spot with high airflow. Overall, it’s a great value and perfect for anyone who wants a clean-smelling home without the headache of artificial scents!

Used in a small 2 door car with a hatchback door. Its the WORK CAR It smells like oil and shoes and old closet and the occasional stale old food that gets left behind from a forgotten lunch bag. Even tho we always cleaned the car and used many car vent deodorizer and even a carbon air filter spray, and attaching deoderant to the carbon air filters and even spraying the fabric in the cars and wiping the surfaces the car stank. ***we cleaned the car as usual, but removed all the old used up air freshener and added this item in the back seat and threw 1 small ball of baking soda in one of the cup holders in the front the arm and hammer shoe deoderant orange balls) ***The next day, the car smelled CLEAN!!!!!!!! not like fragrance. But clean, like nothing!!! No oil no shoe, no food smell!!! I was sooooo happy!!!! ***one way we prepared the gel container was to only puncture holes in the seal that made the container *closed/seal ** we simply made 5 holes and screwed the plastic lid back on, as the screw lid already has pre made holes **we were hoping this would make the gel last longer, and not dry up or release too much at the same time. **so far so good. I will be buying this gel forever as it removed odor, and i guess the lil orange baking soda ball from arm and hammer gave the car a lil fragrance. **but as long as that car doesnt smell like oil food or shoes, I think it amazing

It works OK at absorbing odors, but it does not seem to work for long? While it is scented, it does not seem to continue to smell after about a week. It has made a dent in the odors int eh laundry room (from drain hole), but not sure it works as well as advertised. For the price point, im not sure what i expected though.

Works well! I keep one in the bathroom, one in my car, and one in the garage! Definitely makes a difference in the bathroom and the car because they are small spaces. Garage was a test to see if would help with pet smells- not too sure yet on that one. Unscented is nice if you’re unsure about the other scents!

I was very unsure this product would work to be honest, But I thought it wouldn't hurt to try it.. I recently had a plumbing issue which left my bathroom with a funky smell even after it was fixed. So I was told about this item, ordered it and got it in immediately put one in my bedroom where the smell was lingering also as well one in my bathroom.. Left for work 8 hours later came home and was so super surprised that it worked the smell was completely gone! Not even a slight lingering what so ever, I would definitely buy this again for sure!

Two stars because it worked great for about 10 days, then the aroma and odor elimination just fizzled out. The product has not visibly dissolved or shrunk very much in volume, but it just stopped working. One of our bedrooms w/ ensuite bathroom at the far back of the house always seems to smell a little musty - - - not bad bathroom smells, but just not very fresh. I think it's because the toilet area is at the far back of the ensuite configuration and gets the least amount of air circulation. The air conditioning needs to wrap around the partial dividing wall and never seems to reach that far corner. I'd been using Febreze (non plug-in) and that was working great, but I ran out and thought I'd try this instead. I was very happy with this for the first week, then started to notice the lack of that nice lavender scent. A few days later I walked back there and noticed that same old musty smell again. I checked this to see if it all evaporated that quickly but the volume of gel is not even an inch lower . . . it just isn't working anymore. If I give the jar a shake and jiggle the solid gel material around, a little bit of fragrance will waft out, but without shaking it I don't even get the slightest trace of lavender even when I hold it right up to my nose. I've moved the jar from the ensuite bathroom to my nightstand and I still don't notice any fragrance at all. I've since purchased more of the Febreze (fresh linen) again and am back to using that with great results. Just a tip if you decide to try the Frebreze . . . to me, standing alone and out on a counter the Febreze aroma is quite strong. For the perfect, light scent I put it down in the trash can under the liner and it gives the room just enough of a subtle fresh aroma without overpowering.
