No never. The white hessian looking bag is just the delivery package.

Is this suitable for aviary birds like zebra finches

I doubt it, you need to get specialist food designed for that particular type of bird, this is food for wild garden birds that can supplement their diet with natural food that they can forage for.

Can the bag which contains the bird food be recycled?

Sorry, I can't really help with this one - the bag is marked please recycle , 04 LDP ( low density polyethylene) - but my local authority only recycles plastic bottles (milk, shampoo, cleaning liquids etc. ). I use compost bags - black side out - to line flower baskets etc - but the only use I've found for the bird seed bags is to open them up and use to protect paving slabs when painting preservatives on fence or shed. Shame really - they are good strong bags.
