I bought this for my daughter’s friend for Easter and they love it. They said the pencils are great quality and work really well.

Stuff I like about these charcoals:- Lots of pieces for making lots of black and white art- Smears really well for good blendingStuff to watch out for:- Doesn't do details really well (pretty standard for charcoal chalk, if you want details, charcoal pencils are usually better for that)- Lots of chalk dust- White charcoal shows up translucent when used on top of other colors. I'd prefer opaque.Overall a nice budget charcoal set.

As I said I got this for my son for Christmas he really likes them. He is picky about his art supplies.

Teachers like drawing students to have a variety of charcoals – larger sticks of compressed and lighter sticks of vine charcoals in different grades of hardnesses to experiment with achieving various tonal ranges. This set offers a good variety of compressed charcoals and includes sticks clearly labeled 'soft', 'medium' and 'hard'. It's useful to have a few sticks of white included in a set – and this set has a two sticks of greys as well. Overall this set is a good value. Students in drawing classes will still need lighter 'willow' or 'vine' charcoals to round out their array of supplies and a variety of erasers, but this set is very nice to get used to working with compressed charcoals. One reviewer commented that a stick broke while drawing with it - typically drawing charcoals will break, and that isn't a problem! Learning to work with pieces of charcoal sticks and even experimenting with the materials – even pressing charcoal dust into paper and smudging it - is all part of the learning process!

The foam protection inside the box does a poor job of preventing damage from travel. The foam also falls out once you open it so I would store the charcoal in a separate art box.That said, the charcoal itself is perfect for drawing and great for both beginners and masters. This set will last you a very long time even with extended use.Be careful when using the white stick as it is very soft and has little grip when applied to the paper. I would buy conte sticks for highlights instead of the white stick in the box.

Ich bin eine Anfängerin was dies angeht. Ich finde das produkt super toll, ganz einfach zu benutzen, man muss halt am Anfang damit rumspielen bis man weiß wie mann es wirklich für Zeichen benutzen kann. Also neugebiet für mich aber super toll 👍🏻
