Medicool Dia-Pak Ice Pack - Small (2 Pack)

The ice packs are great for keeping insulin cool whilst travelling. When I took an eight hour flight to the States, I noticed the ice pack had fully defrosted after 4/5 hours, though it still continued to keep the insulin pens in a cool environment until I reached my destination. I stayed in a villa and so had access to a freezer in which to place the pack. This proved useful for days out and for the return journey, though might not always be accessible for those staying in hotels or hostels.

Have just used these for return airplane flights to/from Mexico with a main "budget" airline that operates in the UK as I needed to transport non-dairy milk for our baby with an allergy. For those that are in a similar situation - airport security wanted to scan them separately, but didn't have an issue with them otherwise as we had a doctor's letter, and the airline gave permission beforehand (speak to them on the phone directly before you fly) for us to have them (and the milk) on the plane.We took them out of the freezer around 0430 (solid, frozen), and by the time we arrived in Mexico around 15 hours later, they were soft and squishy, but still reasonably cold. I'd say they worked like a charm. We were able to freeze again at our destination, and use them on the way back. We bought 2 packs of the above (ie. 4 gel packs total) as each one is around the size of pocket tissues (L x W, not D - is thinner).Tip - keep them in one of those sealable plastic bags in whatever you're carrying them in, so when they defrost the water is contained.

Great product. Does what it promises. Bought these for my travel insulin case for my handbag and they held their frozen state for 4 hours or more. Very pleased with this product.
