This is a lovely Tamper, very well made and fits my Portafilter perfectly. It is an ideal weight and comfortable to use. The click sound feedback is really helpful to ensure that you don't over tamp your coffee and makes every tamp exactly the same. If you want to ensure that the obvious potential varient of tamping your puck removes that possible varient and provides the same pressure every time, this is the way to go.

I’m with a few people on here that it seems a lot of money just for a tamper. But when you try it for the first time you understand. It’s total quality. If you’re thinking about getting one then you’re maybe at the stage I was at - got everything kind of dialled in with the mainly cheap stuff that came with the machine, and gradually upgrading one bit at a time. Basket sorted, portafilter sorted, small footprint digital scales sorted, WDT tool sorted. And now this and it’s a work apart from the cheap piece of rubbish that came with the machine. I actually don’t care if it doesn’t make the coffee taste any better, just that it’s such a beautiful thing to use and it means my tamping will be absolutely consistent so one more variable crossed off.

Nice tamper with excellent performance. Poorly packaged in just a clear bag. Small dent on edge damage. Not what you would expect of a premium product!….Responded to my review. Refund offered. A quality tamper like this you would expect to come appropriately safely packed.

Having used a bean-to-cup machine for a few years I decided to buy a Sage espresso maker mid-year 2023. I knew it was going to a tough learning-curve trying to balance coffee weight, grind size, pressure on the tamper and so on, but my goodness, it's tough! I'd got more and more frustrated almost to the point of giving up. While grind size and coffee weight is all manageable with consistency, the big variable is the pressure you put on the tamper. Sorry... but we humans, this one at least, simply cannot consistently apply a consistent pressure time after time, day after day, to ensure consistent coffee every time it is made. More often than not I'd waste a lot of product trying to get it right or drinking good, but not quite 'right' coffee. Didn't matter too much for a milky drink but did for straight espresso.Enter the 3Bomber. Honestly, within one or two test brews, I can now produce identical and consistent 'right' expressos time after time. The big variable that was down to my 'only-human' inconsistencies is fixed. Every time tamping is carried out this little wonder provides exactly 30lb pressure ensuring every brew and brew-time is the now always same as the last one. Now I only need to do a quick adjustment each batch for coffee grind-size to ensure the whole batch has no variation from one espresso to the next.I'm not going into technicalities. It's all in the ad. What I will say is that functionally this is perfect and does what it says it should, and the weight and quality are outstanding. It has a lovely hand-feel and has made my brewing a real pleasure.Sorry for those looking for a used Sage! This device has made me keep mine when it was about to go!

The media could not be loaded. Quality product with a good weight to it. The travel of the tamp is smooth and equal. And that click at the end is great feedback and satisfying. So far it has improved my shot consistency.
