Exactly what you need when tinkering with toys

This is a convenient 245-piece assortment of M6, M8 and M10 hex-head flanged bolts and nuts (the ridged flanges distribute the fastener force) in lengths from 16 mm to 50 mm. The hardware is well-fabricated from corrosion-resistant (avoid chlorides, acids and salt water) 304 stainless steel with no sharp edges, clean deep threads for no binding, and a steel shiny finish. The bolts and nuts are packaged in a compartmented plastic case with latching lid; the lid includes a textual index describing each compartment's contents. The plastic case is enclosed inside a poly-bubble sealed envelope for no-spill shipping. The assortment is physically heavy and my plastic case lid cracked during shipping despite the poly-bubble cushioning; I patched the lid with clear packaging tape (shrug).

The fasteners themselves seem excellent, and the price was good.But all of the inner plastic panels in the case were broken when received.I can see it is a design flaw - if the items are loaded so those panels are horizontal and the box they are in is dropped at any point during transport (likely to happen), upon landing, the deceleration of the fasteners (they are heavy) will easily snap the plastic panels. That's a theory. But fact is that it is exactly how this item arrived to me.Unfortunate, since I usually would keep a box like this until all the parts are used or transplanted to another box.

The nuts and screws are manufactured properly and assemble easily without drama and binding. Who likes binding nuts on brand new screws? Nobody. This kit is also providing literally 4 times the amount of a superior quality product at a quarter of the price. I finished assembling my generator with this kit and it worked flawlessly. These kits are a bargain.
