We have a very thick EV cord that can cause a trip hazard as it crosses a walkway and we used a ramp on either side of the cord and then covered it with a safety mat. Problem solved. It’s very solid and stays in place. I’m sure it does great for door threshold as well.

This item is solid rubber, so I don’t know what kind of utility knife blade they are showing in the advertising to cut this item to a different width. I needed a 1” rise to make up a floor height difference to be able to roll a wheelchair into our bathroom. No big box stores carried anything like this.Cons:1. My doorway requires 28” width, so I did try several knives and saws to cut through this item. I tried a utility knife with a titanium blade, but that wouldn’t do it. I tried a hack saw with a metal blade versus a wood blade (no major teeth). I tried my rotary tool, but only had small cut-off discs. It blew black tire dust all over my kitchen, onto my clothes, and up my nose. I wore eye protection. What I think I need is something like a rotary tool, but more like an electric pizza cutter. My end result was not as neat and clean as I would have liked.2. Ribbed areas tend to peel off the first town when you cut it to size. This leaves to areas that leave black marks onto the soles of slippers and socks. I don’t mind it being rubbed, but the manufacturer should offer this product pre-cut to average door widths: 28”, 32”, and 36”. Plus, it should be sealed to prevent marking and odor.Pros:1. We have a heavy steel door from the kitchen to garage, and that comes with a heavy duty bottom threshold. This little thing makes it possible to smoothly roll her transfer chair up and over it. It has never shifted either.

It’s heavy rubber. Just put it in place…done. The ones that are aluminum (I think) are hollow, so it can collect a lot of dust and debris underneath and then you have unscrew it or try to remove the double stick tape to clean under it. I have a 1 inch lip in the doorway going into my garage…definitely a trip hazard. This will save me from taking a dive onto the cement floor. I couldn’t be happier with this item.

It weighs 40 lbs and has no give when it's stepped on, which makes it safe. It does have an unpleasant smell when taken out of the box but it does dissipate within hours. We are in our senior years and this makes it safer to step up the threshold or roll the lawnmower in and out of the garage. Thanks for this product.

I was in search of something that could be moved in and out of place. Unfortunately this was not it. This is a durable, sturdy, and very heavy piece of rubber. Would be great if it could be left in place.
