Thanks for asking! The UPF50+ coating really makes a big difference. This coating is designed to block 99% of UV rays, so it protects you from the sun. When you hold a Tumella umbrella with a design against the sun, you will not see any sunlight coming through. When we designed this umbrella in the Netherlands, we thought it would be a good idea to use this coating because, firstly, it protects from the sun, but also it creates a beautiful black background for our designs. Please note that only our umbrellas with designs have this UPF50+ coating applied. Our solid colors (black, navy blue, green, etc.) do not have this coating applied and are sun-resistant with T210 fabric. We chose not to apply this coating to the solid colors because they would have a black top instead of being full color

Q: What is the open DIAMETER? Please stop giving us the measurement over the dome; that is misleading. We need to know the bottom DIAMETER when open.

Can't wait till it rains!

I haven't actually used it in the rain yet, but just looking at it and trying it, it looks very robust and will do the job. Especially liked the touch with the personal letter from the supplier.

Definitely not like other umbrellas, canopy is well made, I tested with the Manx weather and really pleased with it, it did flip up a couple of times but did not shoot off the stem (as other brollies do) and integrity of the umbrella is intact 👍👍👍👍👍
