This is the latest thing in female beauty: sticking tiny pins all over your face in order to achieve perfection.OK, I’m being cynical: I didn’t order this for my own personal use, but for my beautiful wife who is delighted with it.She’s had a manual roller for a while, and swears by it, but this electronic version allows the tiny little pricks to go in at the optimum depth (I’m struggling to keep a straight face here), and everything can be controlled by the user.Apparently it works great, though it may be a bit on the expensive side. In any event, it’s now part of her regular beauty routine.

The media could not be loaded. I have used another model of Dr Pen before, but I like this one more because it seems to be a better model than that one. Considering that microneedling nowadays has become a highly requested and necessary procedure for the face, I thought I would try it at home because in the salon these procedures are very expensive. This machine came very well packaged and had everything needed to use it. The Dr Pen was very easy to use, however the instructions in the manual were easy to understand but I have also seen many videos on youtube to better understand how it works and at what speed and depth each part of the face should be done. I used numbing cream so that I wouldn't feel the stings that this pen makes, then I used hyaluronic acid in every part of the face where I have it I applied the dr pen. After I finished the whole procedure, my face was a little red and in some places there was a little blood, but if you read how this machine works, you won't be afraid. After that, I moisturized my face and regularly used spf when I went out, it is very important to protect the skin after we have done microneedling. This dr pen did a very good job and I liked the texture and the quality it has. I am happy that now I can have this procedure with a lot of benefits for the skin done at home without spending a lot of money in the salon. I think it's worth it for the price, I would recommend it.

The pen works but the needle and cartridges which is supposed to release serum are not working. I have to apply the serum by hand which is so dissappointing.

I have been using a Dr. Pen microneedling device for several months to rejuvenate and support the collagen production in my mature skin. My mum said the pen looks like a torturing device; however, I can clearly see the results after a “facial torture” session. My skin becomes plump, soft and beautiful. Naturally, I have always combined microneedling and other facial therapies with beauty serums and elixirs.Hydra Pen caught my attention instantaneously due to my prior experience with microneedling devices. I appreciated the concept and wanted to test it immediately. Compared to my other device, the Hydra Pen only pierces the skin to a maximum depth of 1 mm, the optimum depth for delivering hydration and active ingredients.I used a 4D hyaluronic acid serum (4 types of hyaluronic) for my first session. The serum, I thought, was thicker; hence, I set the pen on 3 for liquid dispersion. If the serum is thin, setting 1 or 2 could be used.Compared to my other device, the Hydra Pen reddened my face, looking like slightly sunburnt skin. I used it on my right cheek first, then the left, followed by the chin and forehead. I used gentle linear moves from side to side and did not press the pen aggressively into my skin to avoid scratches. I only used half the serum in the tiny tank for my entire face. After the microneedling session, I applied other serums and moisturisers.Using the Hydra Pen was interesting. The booklet is well-written and easy to follow; however, you will need some time to familiarise yourself with the settings and treatment. There are videos on YouTube for beginners demonstrating how to fill the tank and use the pen. I am undoubtedly pleased to have ordered it because it enhances my skincare routine and weekly anti-ageing and rejuvenating therapies. In closing, microneedling combines well with facial laser, working synergistically and creating a spotless and firm complexion.
