If youre swapping out the switch’s thumb controllers might as well swap the batteries as well. You have to take the same screws out and ribbon cables. Just get a kit that has the tools and extra ribbons and contoller end pieces and swap them at the same time. I had two sets to do for the nephews and this fixed it back to new. So yeah the batteries work fine and charged about the same time but i havent tested actual battery usage time but seems to be decent. The kids havent complained.

Definitely needed a new set for my original Joy Cons. Installation was pretty easy, though the plugs were small and having big hands made it a bit of a challenge, I was able to perform the swap within a few moments. Swapping both took maybe a half hour. Battery life seems about the same as when i first got them so that's good for me!

This is a great little kit. It comes with everything you would need for 2 sets of joycons. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube but just take your time. I'd reccomend using a little square of double-sided tape to keep the batteries in place but they work great and are a 1:1 replacement.
