Better than a Similar, Much More $, Stirrer
I bought the Cole-Parmer 37130-9003 Egg-Shaped Stir Bar, 3" L x 3/4" Dia; 1/Pk in April for $43.83. And it has worked well. But when I couldn't find it last week (since found), I ordered this very similar stir bar.Hands down, this iitem performs better. It's heavier, bigger, and thus mixes more. This magnet is significantly stronger. It will move itself to the magnetic center above the magnetic stirrer if the I place it anywhere close to that location. Also, this stir bar can handle a significantly faster rate of rotation per minute without spinning out. I got it up to 400 RPM, mixing lye into 4L of water, and had no interest in going any faster. I am assuming this stir bar will last for a good while, given the material of its composition. I will report back if any problems arise in that regard. At the moment, I am tickled pink.Update: This stirrer is also significany quieter than other stir bars I have used. Once it gets up to speed, I have to look at the surface of the liquid being stirrer to verify that it is being stirred.I received no compensation or benefit for this review.

Great Football Shaped Stir Bars
They work as intended and are an excellent price. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Fits the Corning PC-611
I got this because it’s almost the exact same size as the one for the Corning PC-611 and it seems to work perfectly. It’s a fraction of the cost too!

You get what you pay for
They don't spin well but they are cheap and you get a lot of them. Depends on how important consistent spinning is for your applications. Sometimes these cheap ones are fine for me but for important chemical reactions I go with my $25 single stir bars...A good product overall when considering its cost

Durable and Long-Lasting!
I've only had to purchase this item once because of how reliable the product is. I can't say they're the best stir bar money can buy, but for the price it's definitely worth it. These stir bars have yet to lose their magnetism! My biggest problem with stir bars was always how long they stayed magnetic, these were the solution. HIGHLY recommended!

Garbage! All demagnetized after first use
These should be sold with the note that they CAN NOT be heated above 100 centigrade without losing their magnetism.Utter garbage sold on Amazon under the guise of being "lab equipment".

Turns back into a pumpkin at 140C.
On the plus side, the plastic coating does appear to be PTFE - it's slippery and not affected by hot, concentrated sulfuric acid. On the minus side, the magnet was demagnetized at 140C (but not at 120C), so the claimed temp rating of 250C is pure fantasy. Still, I paid just as much for a single egg-shaped stir bar with a genuine AlNiCo magnet (that is actually good to 250C) so I give these 3 stars instead of just 1 or 2. They work, but don't meet claimed specs.
