The puzzles were fun but challenging. We had to use a lot of the hints. It’s probably best for a smaller group of 4 or less. We had 7 of us and it was too hard for everyone to see the clues in the box. It was also a lot of fun to see parts of the Seattle Center area that we hadn’t seen, and we’re locals.The biggest drawback is that there are so many clues and it took a really long time to do. After 2.5 hours of walking around and still weren’t done, we grew tired of it so we gave up and never finished it.

We picked the Seattle version. We were a group of 6, didn’t have to walk much if you were at the place where they asked us to start from. We do not need a car for this game. It was a well planned out game! Loved every single puzzle!

Fun game to do with family or friends. Seems like a lot of effort went into making it and I appreciate that they seem tailored to each location. Luckily, I live in the location for which I purchased the game so do not have to travel far to do it. We enjoyed our initial adventure out to try the game!It is a really cool idea and can help you get out and see more of your city and surroundings. Would make a good gift idea, or maybe if you had an AirBnb you could keep it there as something for your guests to do while in the city.

If you're like me and LOVE scavenger hunts, Escapely is for you! Escapely is a multi-player adventure game that combines a scavenger hunt, clues, puzzles, and exploring. It's a great game for families or friends. Escapely is a fun interactive puzzle game where you go on a scavenger hunt, solve puzzles, and find your way out of the "escape room"/city.It's suitable for people ages 13 and up but because it's played in real life, those under a certain age will obviously need to play with an adult. I ordered the Seattle game box but there are 6 other cities to choose from giving you options.This is a game played in real life searching for real life clues, exploring, and going on scavenger hunt of sorts in order to solve puzzles and "escape". I thought the theme of the Seattle box sounded like great fun. Apparently you're supposed to have just gotten a job at the Elixir Emporium as a Potion Master.When you receive your box, you simply scan the QR code on the box to get game information including starting location when to play, and what you'll need to bring on your adventure. As you play you'll scan more QR codes that will give you hints, guide you, help you solve puzzles, and give you more information.Because there are 7 major city adventures anyone from those cities can play. But it also limits who can play because not everyone can get to those cities. Hopefully, they'll make Escapely for more cities so more people can play. At $45 this is a little pricey for a one time play game but it's especially great for people who are new to any of these cities or people who are vacationing in one if the 7 cities.This would be an amazing gift to give to someone new to one if these cities to help them explore their new city. It would also be a fun gift for anyone who plans to go to any of these cities in vacation! For yourself, or as a fun and thoughtful gift, Escapely is sure to be appreciated by whoever receives it!Recommended!

First things first: Make sure you're living in the city of the game version you've selected, and be aware that you'll not be standing still indoors -- you need to walk around, use your mobile phone to watch clips and follow clues, and have a grand time while doing this.We have the Seattle version of the game for which you need to walk around the Seattle Center. The initial instructions I've posted as a picture are what you see when you scan the QR code out of the box. This gives you the basics, and the real puzzle hunt starts after you scan the next QR code inside the box. Along with this, you get a bunch of envelopes with clues, and a locked box whose code you're working towards figuring out. Each city version seems to have a different theme -- this one is more fantasy-oriented, with potions and spells and such...This is great for a family weekend outing, or possibly as a corporate team building activity. You're not just getting a bunch of papers in envelopes, you're actually getting the whole organized experience via the videos and clues on the web site. The only negative for me was the fact that you need to create an account for the online site, but I can live with that.Highly recommended... I might order the NYC version of this before our upcoming trip to the city in a couple of months...
