Wonderful Devotional
The book was new. The only issue I had it was thrown in the box without any protection.

A great finish to the day!
This devotional is a great way to end my day. It is very comforting to put God's word into my mind before I fall off to sleep.

need peace give it a read
I loved the prayers at the end of each devotion. I shared them on Facebook for my friends who are struggling to let go and let God. Sleep evades us as we age too.

Um... maybe not.
Um... maybe not.I'll tell you what I mean in a minute.Let's start with this:This is an attractive, hard covered book that will make a lovely gift for anyone that finds benefit reading devotionals. The muted colors, the photos, the graphics are all well done, and sort of provoke a sense of calm.In addition to the good old "Word", I read about six different devotionals per day. Some in the morning, and some right before I go to sleep. At this point, I have only sampled from this book, so keep in mind, this review is based on a sampling not the entire devotional.I started from the beginning and then read random selections from the middle and ends of the book. What I have found is that each of the writers stories are relatable, real, and the prayers at the end of each story are heartfelt, authentic, and provoke thought and agreement. What makes this "Um... maybe not" for me....Some of the real, relatable things that are described in some of the stories.Instead of setting my mind at peace, I relate to them too much.A problem or a conflict is the last thing that I want to set my mind on, as I'm going to sleep.Yes there is a sense of resolution and Gods greatness, but if your mind is prone to get "spun up" as my friend Rob describes it, well these stories can be a two-edged sword. For me personally, these seem a better fit for the morning, or during the day.The physical size of this book is:8 1/4" tall6 1/4" wide> 3/4" thick but not quite an inch.On my kitchen scale it weighs: 1 pound, 2.4 Ounces (18.4 ounces).Remember, it's Hard Cover.I've given a 4 star rating based on initial impressions and overall quality of the book, not the sleep assist.I hope this review has been helpful and enables you to make an informed purchase decision.

Very readable, beautiful hardcover!
The media could not be loaded. When I saw this I decided I needed to order it because I have such a hard time sleeping. I have a bad habit of playing with my phone when I'm in bed and I'm really trying to break the habit by reading instead. I just knew this was the perfect way to segue into a better habit. The book is very readable which is what you need when you're exhausted and ready for bed. It is broken up into four different sections. The sections are balancing daily obligations and pressures, confronting fear and uncertainty, navigating family concerns, trusting God during difficult times. Under each section are a dozen or so devotions, usually about two pages long and what seems like at least 12 pt font so text is not too small. Even though the devotions are numbered day one, day two, day 3, I think one could choose to read them in succession or jump around. There is a tremendous amount of issues covered that almost everyone can relate to. Each devotion starts with a relevant Bible quote. And then in the body goes back and forth talking about stresses of daily life and then relating it to the Bible to help you reframe your situation in a more positive light. Each section ends with a short prayer. There are a few calming images throughout the book. It has a nice cloth ribbon bookmark built in.This is really beautifully written, and in its physical construction. It would make a wonderful gift. I highly recommend it!
