Love it, less mess
2 cats (3 yo male & female), prefer top open but were peeing over the side 😤 over 2+ months I transitioned 3 litter boxes to this design. This was my second of this exact product. My home is less smelly, less kitty litter kicked around than an open top, and more discreet than seeing poop/pee clumps than open tops. Not going back while cats are healthy enough to climb in

Second Time Buyer for this Sturdy Workhorse LItter Box
We used this model for two cats (cleaning every two days) for about FIVE years with good experience. The plastic/rubber is thick and just a little flexible so it doesn't crack or chip with rough handling. The grooved lid has been great to minimize 'litter scatter' as well. Just decided that the cats deserved a new one and was delighted to find this same So Phresh model available. It's a bit pricey, but when you find something that works and gets daily use, it's worth it.

Keeps it all inside.
Bought for my aunty. If I ever get a cat I'll buy another one. Easy to clean as lid lifts off easily and locks easily

Works great!
So all of the articles I read said I needed to replace the old litterbox with the new one and the cat would eventually use it so long as the placement of the box and the litter remained the same. However, my cat has never used a top-entry box before, so I expected some resistance but not to the degree that my little hellion took it.She was so resistant to the change that she started peeing in my dog's bed (my poor girl), and we had no idea because the dog bed was in the living room. But you know, after the dog bed was soaked through and through, my cat decided she couldn't use it anymore, so she started using the litterbox. It's been smooth sailing ever since, but I had to buy a new dog bed.I didn't expect to love this litterbox so much. Most of the tracking stays on the lid, so there isn't as much of a mess on the floor, which is great because I have carpet. I simply lift the lid and the litter falls back into the box, it's so awesome. I love this thing more than my cat does. The transition period sucked (my poor dog), but once we got through that, everything has been great!

PLEASE READ- GREAT LITTER BOX FOR SOME CATS
I thought I had struck gold when I bought this litter box, which immediately solved the problem of my male cat peeing high and getting urine outside the litter box! He squats low at first and then by the end of his pee would raise his rear end and pee outside the approximately 8 inch high litter box. We tried a domed litter box, but he would pee in the cracks and make a mess as well. When I got this litter box,my two cats seemed to be doing well with it. This litter box is so tall and large that my large male Bengal cat, never peed outside of it, and seemed to fit nicely in it. I bought two more because we have a two story home with a balcony that they go onto each day. However, shortly after that, my male cat started peeing on the carpet in the living room. He had two corners in there, which were his favorite spots. We couldn’t figure out why he was doing this other than we had had some construction done in the house and that maybe upset him?Over the next couple of years, we replaced the carpet in our living room and added French doors so he couldn’t get in there. Then he started peeing in the guest room, and when I locked the door in there, he started peeing out in the hallway leading to the guest room. Then he started peeing in the formal dining room, right near the front door and in another spot. By this time, our house really smelled bad! I did find a very good carpet cleaner, but he continually peed on the carpet so it still smelled. We bought some cameras and put them on the upstairs and downstairs litter box. I noticed that my male cat would very carefully look in the box and then go away several times. Some thing was preventing him from going in the box. Then he would go pee on the carpet. We were so desperate at this point I was willing to try anything! I had actually considered for the very first time rehoming the cat, who I love dearly. The smell was horrible, and there didn’t seem to be a solution. We tried everything from motion detector air sprays that startle him, lining the carpet with aluminum foil, pheromone sprays, and nothing really solved the problem. Finally back in October 2022 we put our kitty on Prozac. Within a few weeks he completely stopped peeing on the carpets. However, with holiday parties, and people in and out of the house, it seem to upset him and he started peeing on the carpet again. This continued for several weeks into March 2023.My husband suggested that we take the lids off the litter boxes to see if that made a difference. I hadn’t even thought of that. Finally, after seeming to try everything, on March 14th, 2023 we took the litter box lids off this litter box. Along with a very careful observation on the camera, we determined it was the small hole and the lid that the kitty did not like. We observed him on the camera, still looking very carefully at the uncovered litter box before jumping in.Cats like to see what they’re getting into before they commit to jumping in. Our cat does not like the litter box to be dirty and he couldn’t see the entire surface of the litter box peering into the small hole. So he’d rather pee on the carpet then jump into a litter box he couldn’t fully see.Thankfully to this day, he has not peed on the carpet even once! We make sure to keep the litter box very clean, scooping it at least once a day. It has been two months since he last peed on the carpet.I am going to start weaning him off of the Prozac now. I really think it was the litter box lids all along that was causing him to pee on the carpet. My point is this is a wonderful litter box, but if your kitty starts peeing outside the litter box, you may have the same issue. Try taking the lid off to see if it helps.
