Great unit, great price, great support!
As an owner of an older ATOTO A6 radio that I was very happy with, when I got a newer vehicle that needed a stereo upgrade, I went straight to see what newer ATOTO stereos had to offer. I purchased the ATOTO A7 A7G209PKL. Amazon delivered it overnight and I unboxed it installed it the next day. Installation was very straight-forward for someone who has the experience of installing several car stereos over the years; no surprises here. On first boot, I was welcomed by an intuitive dashboard that operates like most other Android devices. It was very simple to find all of the functions and features of the unit. The rear view camera worked with no configuration, and activates nearly instantly when I shift into reverse. Radio quality is good and on par with nearly every other modern stereo. The sound quality of the built in amplifier is excellent. I ran off of it for several days after installation and the built in DSP allows you to really tune the sound output for optimal listening. Over the weekend, I connected the unit to my amplifier and subwoofer, and now it sounds amazing. Overall, I have no complaints about this stereo. I did have one issue during installation and contacted support. They responded promptly with an easy solution for my issue, so I was as impressed with their support as the unit itself. Compared to my old 2018 A6 (which is still operating in my old truck 8 years later), this thing is much faster, with virtually no lag on any interaction, and the screen is beautiful and responsive. I can't speak highly enough of this thing, especially for the price. You'll pay triple to get a stereo with this much functionality from Sony or Pioneer (if they even offer one). I'll be buying more ATOTO products in the future, for sure.

Great Unit. Great Options. Great Company.
I already had the Atoto A5L 9” head unit and loved it. I have the DVR cam, front cam, rear cam, OBD Torque accessory, and the tire pressure monitoring system. So many things you can add onto these units. Now they are adding in RGB lighting, wireless cameras, interior cameras, LED signs, wireless monitors for the kids, and so much more. This is the third Atoto unit I have had. I just keep upgrading. Had it in for a few days now. With my old eyes the larger 9" screen is great and it is sharp. This continues all the extra pop to my Miata. It fit perfectly in place without blocking anything. The thing with most of these Atoto units are that all the connections are the same, so it was essentially a plug and play upgrade from my other Atoto unit to this one. The screen is perfectly clear, crisp, fast, and smooth, swiping is smooth, video is smooth, and everything loads quick. One of the best parts about this is that it is instant start, no loading, no android screen, nothing. You start the car and it is on, almost instantly. Another plus for me is all the different audio volume options that this unit has, ring volume adjustment, nav voice volume and to mix it with the music. Speaking of music, which is the main purpose of a head unit, it is excellent. I was impressed with the last one and this also does not disappoint. Whatever manufactures say about amperage is always overstated crap. This unit has more than enough power. If I were to crank it all the way up, I would be doing some damage, not only to my ears, but also the speakers. It really rocks and with clarity. It has so many different adjustments for the sound, a crazy large EQ, time delays, and of course the usual balance stuff. Everyone was so impressed with my old unit that I had two other people buy them. Now I am sure some will pull the trigger and upgrade as well since it is so simple. The original install was your typical head unit install which is not as easy as plug and play, but with the right car adapter, it’s not that bad. All those custom fit units, I know I bought one for my wife's Toyota, are crap. I wish I had done an Atoto in her car before and now I will put my old one in there. With most of those, some company makes them and some other company buys and sells them and puts some garbage android skin on them. It sucks. Atoto does their own thing very well. Good luck with any kind of updates with another generic android unit. I think the main thing most people do, is use it with Android auto or Carplay. I have Android and it has connected wirelessly and flawlessly every time. You can have it auto connect, or select to connect, which is nice choice. I don't always want Android auto to launch once it connects, but if you do it will do it quickly when you start the car. I think it is a few seconds to start and maybe another max 10 seconds until Android auto connects and takes over the screen. What else can I say to help you decide. I can’t believe all the things they are packing in these units at the price. Sure, you can buy a major name unit, but you’re paying a lot more for the name and you are getting less functions and no add-ons. It's a great unit from a great company and it does everything they say it does. What else can you ask for?

Decent android unit; perfect upgrade for an older car
Overall, I think this is a great stereo, especially for the money. Installation wasn't too bad, but I have installed a couple of radios before and did research to make sure I had all the necessary parts. Unit fit well into the double din opening in my 9th gen civic. I had some trouble getting it to sit flush, but thats more so due to the dash kit from metra. I've now had this unit in my car for a couple weeks so I feel like I can give a comprehensive review. So I did also upgrade the factory speakers while doing the radio swap so I feel like that helped with the overall sound. Speakers upgraded to 6.5" MTX terminator6, which sound great BTW! Even still, I can come no where close to turning up the volume all the way as this stereo is powerful, even without running an external amp. Display on the unit is good overall. Touchscreen is responsive. Wish I could get google maps to cycle day/night, seems like a software glitch. Also, no pinch zoom functionality for maps. FM radio works fine. One area where I've run into trouble is carplay, connection was fine at first, then sporadic and now won't conect at all. I mostly use android auto, so I dont really care about trying to fix the carplay issue. Android auto runs pretty smoothly with only occasional disconnect at random. One thing I dislike is there are no physical buttons on this unit, which admittedly make it more sleek looking, but also limmit functionality. I would really wish they would've put at least a volume control on the face of the unit because I am only able to control the volume using my steering wheel controls. Which, BTW, was the hardest part of the install. I used the metra steering wheel control interface which was a separate purchase and what atoto recommended for my vehicle when I emailed tech support, which they were fast to respond. Thank you for that atoto! It took me well over an hour programming the interface to get it to work with my car and the atoto unit. I just worry if the steering wheel controls ever stop working, there is no way to adjust the volume while using android auto. You have to exit out of android auto to get a volume button to show up on the home screen. Trying to find a way to get this virtual screen volume to come up on android auto, but no luck so far. Im also not crazy about the eq presets, but havnt had the time to customize my own so well see on that. Overall, im pretty impressed. Definitely a major upgrade from factory sound especially if also upgrading the speakers like I did. I would recommend for anyone on a budget or in my case trying to upgrade an old car that you dont want to sink a ton of money into. I dont have any other basis of comparison so I can't really compare it to say something like alpine or pioneer, but your also talking about spending hundred of dollars more so Im not sure its a fair comparison. My only real concern is longevity. I've read mixed reviews online as far as how long these units last over the years, but the company seems very responsive to emails and questions and it seems like they stand by their products. Stellar product for anyone on a fixed budget. Install wasnt too bad so long as you have all the necessary parts and tools. Don't forget you'll need a dash kit, steering wheel interface and a wiring harness. Crutchfield is a great resource for figuring that part out.

Atoto S8 8 core 7 inch on 2002 Ford F350
The Atoto S8 is a great head unit for my 2002 Ford F350. When I removed my factory radio I discovered the old radio was not a double DIN size. It's a little bit wider and not as tall. But I was able to make it fit by modifying the dash just a little bit with a Dremel tool. I could not find a dash kit for this particular model that went with my truck but I was able to manufacture one myself. To go with it I purchased the tailgater rear view camera. Which gave it a nice look as if it came with the truck. At first I was disappointed because the rear view image was reversed. But I was able to correct it by going into the unit settings and clicking on mirror image. BUT I also had to go into the DVR app on the unit and select reverse the image in the settings in there as well. I didn't install the microphone. But it seems to work fine with the onboard microphone. I've made calls and can easily talk and listen over the diesel engine noise. The sound quality on both the radio and phone are excellent. The responsiveness seems very good as well. Overall it's awesome.

Versatile and Impressive, with One Caveat
I've been using the ATOTO S8G2A74MS for a few weeks now, and I must say I'm genuinely pleased with its performance and versatility. The unit delivers exactly what the advertising promises—responsive, feature-rich, and well-designed for modern driving needs. It took me a few days to fully understand how everything works, but the more I use it, the more I appreciate its capabilities. From navigation to media integration, it's a solid upgrade for any vehicle. However, I’ve encountered one issue with the rear camera: the image appears mirrored, as if flipped horizontally. The installation was professionally done, and the technician confirmed it's likely a software-related problem. We attempted a firmware update, but unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. I’m hopeful that ATOTO can provide a solution or patch to fix this glitch, as everything else about the unit has exceeded my expectations. UPDATE Atoto’s customer service was fast and effective in responding to my request to fix the camera image. They provided clear, easy-to-follow instructions, and now everything works perfectly. Really impressed with their support!

DO NOT BUY - you've been warned
Update: It is stuck in a factory reset loop. Completely unusable at 14 months. Finding support or firmware since it's not OTA updatable, is near impossible. It's not on the site or the warranty and updates pages. It was never great, you never knew if it would connect to your phone or how. It has a lot of bloatware you cannot get off of it. And CarPlay is a major after thought. DO NOT buy this if you want CarPlay, go with a more reputable brand. I self installed this paired with the atoto amp. The installation was fairly easy. I did need to buy a scoche adapter and make some connections, which again were easy and provided a bit more room to maneuver. For the money it's a decent CarPlay android unit. Is it awesome, no. The connectivity is wonky and drops often. Connecting it to wifi is near impossible and tethering a phone to it has been impossible as well. The atoto dash cam is a decent add on but takes up the only data cable you have, but, it doesn't seem to work for data from a phone for music or anything anyway. Again another connectivity issue. Music drops often due to this issue. The screen is plenty bright and the touch sensitivity is fine. If I knew which model would have provided a more stable connection either physically or wireless I would go that route. Can't say I would buy again,, probably wouldn't.

Fantastic Radio for more than half the price
I upgraded from a 7 inch ATOTO A6 to the new A7 9inch and it’s like having a tablet in my car! My 2007 Avalon was easy to wire and the Android Play recognizes my phone and connects like a charm. Everything is operating as advertised and I highly recommend you looking into an ATOTO when looking for a new car radio to get more for your buck!

Excellent quality for the price
I recently purchased this new A7G209PKL and replaced my older A6G2A7PF. Nothing was wrong with my old unit I was just passing it down to another vehicle. I installed it into my 2012 scion XB. I was happy to find that it uses the same wiring harness as my old unit so I didn’t have to swap much out. It did have a different cable containing the SIM card holder that also connected to my sub. Swapped the USB cables too because there was an extra one. But nothing more needed to be rewired. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now and am really happy with it. The display is more vibrant than the old. It’s just more pleasing to look at. I was surprised by the sound improvement, which I wasn’t expecting. My old unit I felt I was always messing with the equalizer as every song would come in different. It can be wired to work with your steering wheel controls which can be programmed through the unit. I use android auto which works great. But the home screen almost makes me want to use a hot spot from my phone instead as it looks sleeker and responds better than android auto. I found a cheap data plan that I intend to use on it to supplement when phones are unavailable. I had a minor issue with a message that would pop up saying Emergency recording in progress. Support was quick to respond, even with the holiday. We found it was a dash cam DVR setting set to record when it senses shock. It was comforting to know that they have a team to help support these devices. My car has a 7 inch bay and I was curious if I was going to have to modify my trip piece to fit this unit. But It comes with a bracket that installs in the bay and the actual head unit can be pushed in after and screwed in place. I think this might be common with these larger displays but I wasn’t aware of it. I’ve included an image to show how it screws into place.
