You never fail with original equipment parts.
I recently purchased some generic plugs for two different types of canner. Both require these saftey plugs. The generic plugs actually blew out before pressures was achieved. They were a bad fit,bad value. They were possibly dangerous. The original part was a perfect fit and sealed perfectly.

Overpriced
These used to be included with the Presto replacement sealing ring. Now I have to order it separately. It fit fine.

Works just like new!
The plugs harden over time and needed replacing so I bought this plug made for it. Installing it involves simply pushing it into the same spot the old plug was in then using the lid cover as you always did. Now it works just like it did when it was new! Being able to replace parts and keep the cooker working like new is the best thing ever!
