New lighter hedge trimmer.
I bought a similar product from Ryobi thinking it was going to be similar weight but I was so wrong. This one is so much lighter and cuts brilliantly, well worth the money and for some reason so much cheaper than the official website.

Very lightweight extended trimmer which is easy to operate.
I decided to look into extended trimmers to cut my many tall hedges. However, having read most of the many dissatisfied reviews of this product I spent some time looking at the alternatives. The reviews of all of these were equally disappointing; many a lot worse. In the end I thought I'd risk it and try the Gtech LHT50. I have to say that (so far) I am pleasantly surprised. I find this trimmer very lightweight - the main feature for me, as a male in his 70's, and of slight build. Most of my hedges are privet and hawthorn and the blade cuts through these adequately. I also have a long, mature conifer hedge on which I use a powerful, standard length trimmer. I think it's a bit much to expect the Gtech, which is clearly designed to be a lightweight extended trimmer, to cut through thick conifer branches. So, yes, you will need to complement the Gtech with a standard length trimmer. I don't think this is unreasonable. In addition to its lightness I found the switch OK to operate; the trimmer is easy to manoeuvre and it's very easy to change the angle of the blade, even in a precarious position. I've only used it for 3 days, so far, but have not experienced any of the blade-snapping problems others have had and I had no problems with the battery life or the time taken to recharge. It seems quite well made to me but I can't, yet, speak for its longevity, hence the 4 stars.

Great product
Great product. Really light weight. Cuts through brambles and thin wood easily.

Lightweight and Easy to Use
The main reason I bought this GTech hedge trimmer was because it offered a decent long reach and was light weight, and I'm not disappointed. My previous machine was 4.5kg and I needed the upper body strength of Schwarzenegger in his prime to use it for anything more than 3 mins at a time. Thankfully with the GTech I can get all my hard to reach upper hedge sections cut without any physical complaints from the 2.1kg total weight. The cutting blade length isn't the longest but on the end of the long reach pole it's good enough for the intended purpose. So far the battery charges and holds the charge for the promised hours use - I'll be making sure it's well protected and insulated over the winter to prevent any cold weather deterioration.

Lightweight, long reach, as described.
This is a decent hedge/tree trimmer. It is relatively light in weight, but with a long reach, so is less tiring to use when reaching up to high branches. It seems durable (though I have used it only a couple of times). Please be aware that the handle comes in three sections, and can only be assembled with all three sections in place. That means that if you are at the top of a tree, trying to trim branches close to you, it is difficult because the trimmer is so long. I can't see why the design forces this - it would be better to allow the middle section to be removed to convert it to a short-reach trimmer when required.

Robust and easy to use
I was sceptical using this trimmer. I've also had a petrol trimmer but it was fantastic. The hedge is over 10ft high, 20m long and it cut through it like butter. No need for ladders and the battery lasted too. Its lightweight compared to my petrol hedge trimmer. It took no time to do both hedges. Fantastic item to have for your garden!

Not Bad but length not adjustable
Not a bad tool, battery lasts well and reasonable cutting. As Mentioned by others, fixed length, so only good for cutting tops of hedges NOT for cutting close to you sides etc. Lightweight when using straight up but becomes a bit heavy when tilting away from the centre of gravity as all the weight is at the top. Trigger button becomes difficult to operate when you hand gets tired. Personally, i use this for the top of hedges and my conventional electric one for everthing else.
