Poor Workmanship That Damaged My Computer!
I did the setup and before I tried it, I decided that I wanted to put it in a different USB slot. I pulled...and pulled, and pulled. It seems that where the metal on the plug comes together at the bottom, had an edge sticking out. I hadn't noticed it before inserting it, but the edge (that folded seam) on the end that went into my computer hooked onto the inside of the female end of the USB port on my computer. I kept pulling and the metal part of the plug came off, and I had to get a pair of needle-nose pliers to retrieve the metal piece. It ended up pulling out another piece inside of the USB plug, making that USB port now completely unusable. I was able to push the adapter into another USB slot without the metal jacket on the outside. It's now held in by USB plugs above and below it, but if the computer or it's cabling is moved at all, it comes disconnected. The connection is crazy slow compared to the other computers in the house. I just went to move a 20MB file to another computer (server) and it estimates the transfer to take more than an hour.
