Perfect multipurpose welder
This came in yesterday and I couldn't wait to try it out. A friend has been using my big MIG welder with my spool gun to rebuild a boat. Unfortunately he has been using it for about a month now. I have projects I want to do as well. So I picked this unit up hoping for the best. I was surprised and how well it actually works. I needed to add tie down rings to my trailer and it welded up 6 of them very quickly. the settings are very easy to use, without having to go through 18 different menus like some of the newer digital units have to. I have an older spool gun that I wanted to test out to see if it still worked, and found that the machine has a 4 pin connector, but my spool gun was only 2 wire. I contacted the seller inquiring about a schematic or help with wiring it up and they were very helpful. Granted I didn't get a response until later last night due to the time difference. I was able to wire up a 4 pin connector, using just 2 of the pins and my spool gun is working on this unit. Excellent customer support from them.

Redbo Welder: Powerhouse in a Box!
Copped this Redbo 5-in-1 Welder and, man, it's got the juice! Slides between Gas MIG to Stick to TIG like a boss. Dig the dual voltage feature – plug and play anywhere. The LED display shows me the full range, and it's got mad compatibility for various wires. Used it outdoors, indoors, even some high-up jobs. That Lift TIG? Crisp for thin stainless steel work. Safety features? On lock! And with a 2-year warranty, it's like Redbo's got my back 24/7. Straight fire!

Great Welder!
The media could not be loaded. This Redbo 110/220V Dual Voltage welder is a very good welding machine, especially when you consider the very reasonable price. It's a multi-process welder, supporting MIG, Lift TIG, Stick, Flux Core, and Spool gun welding (although out of the box accessories are included for Stick and MIG/Flux Core welding only. The add-ons for Lift Tig and Spool Gun welding need to be purchased separately if those types of welding operations are desired. Also, MIG welding needs the addition of a shielding gas source, which is not included in the package. The key here is expandability. The core machine allows all the listed processes without the expense of including ALL the accessories in the box for those who are currently only interested in the processes for which the accessories are included (while leaving the option open for much more in the future).I personally am not a skillful welder. My welds typically fall into the category of "it's not pretty, but it works". Even so, this machine allows me to make serviceable welds even without the skill and experience that I lack. I can only imagine what a more skillful and/or experienced welder could achieve with this low-cost welder. I don't think that they would be limited by its capabilities at all. I was very happy with the low splatter that I experienced when doing my first Flux Core test weld on 3/16" steel, and with the nice penetration I was able to achieve. What a difference from the old AC Flux Core welder I used to have! The welder seems to be very well-made. I was pleasantly surprised to see the wire feed components were made out of mostly strong metal instead of plastic. The feed is very smooth and consistent. The size is smaller and the weight is much lighter than my old flux core non-inverter machine. It is easy to transport and a pleasure to use. I like the extra-long cable leading up to the gun. I allows me to keep the machine in my garage under cover and weld out in the driveway without any problems. The included comparatively short grounding cable limits that a bit, though. The back of the welder has the main power switch for the machine as well as the input port for gas (for those processes that need it). There is also a cooling fan that runs all the time that the power is on to keep internal electronics cool. There is a door on one side of the machine that swings up to afford access to the wire feed components (spool holder and feed mechanism). The front panel contains most of the controls, including the ports for attaching the welding accessories and ground cable, a large digital display panel, a voltage adjustment knob (+2 to -2V adjustment range), a current adjustment knob, a button to cycle through and select the various supported functions (processes) and shielding gas types, as well as a rocker switch to toggle between use of the spool gun or MIG/Flux core. The machine has an excellent duty cycle compared to other machines I've used in the past - between 60 and 100% depending on input voltage and welding current/voltage. All in all, I would have to say that I am thoroughly satisfied with this welder!I touched on included accessories, but here's a list of all that comes in the package: > The welder itself with permanently attached 110 VAC power cord. > An adapter to connect the welder to 220 VAC power (NEMA 14-50) to enable higher welding currents. The power supply automatically detects the voltage and switches between 110 and 220 Volts automatically. > The MIG/Flux Core Wire gun. As I mentioned earlier, this has a generous length cable (10') attached. It also includes extra tips (5 each 1mm and .8mm), 2 extra shields, and a handy mini-wrench for removing and tightening the tips > One 1-lb spool of .039" flux core welding wire > One stick electrode holder with a 10' attached cable > One pair of cloth and leather gloves which could be used for welding, although I would say that a pair of all-leather gloves with longer cuffs would be better. > A stiff steel wire brush with a small slag hammer on the back of the brushI think I've covered just about everything. This welder is definitely (in my opinion) suitable for the beginner as well as more experienced welders. Its combination of capability, ease of use, expandability, duty cycle, and performance could satisfy experienced welders as well as help beginners to grow in skill vs. quitting after a short while because of discouragement with poor initial results. I think that the Redbo makes the most out of what beginners bring to the table as their techniques improve with experience.
