Yes there is a small lift. This is not a flat sandal

Q: Are theses adjustable for narrower feet?

Yes, they are adjustable for either way you need to adjust them.

Q: These shoes squeak when I walk! Is there a way to remedy that?

They do not squeak when walking. I bought them for after bunion and hammer toe surgery and they were perfect. I even started wearing one of them while I was in the medical boot.
