Keeps the squirrels away
It may be a little more expensive, but we have a lot of squirrels and want to keep them away from our Bird Buddy. We've been using this seed for over a week, and while we've noticed squirrels in the tree and on the ground, they've stayed away.

Great for discouraging squirrels.
I have six bird feeders around my house, two on tree limbs, 2 on the cable TV wire, and two on windows. I also have many big trees - which house lots of squirrels. While many of the trees offer nuts, seeds, pine cones. it's never enough for the squirrels. They are super smart and able to steal from the so called "squirrel proof" feeders. Ive tried many different placements. They figure a way around them eventually. Hot pepper is very helpful. Now it's not perfect. Squirrels don't like it much, but they'll eat it if there's nothing else. Third prong of the approach is to put out some peanuts in shells or other food that takes them some effort, but less effort than shaking the bird feeders. Squirrels are incredibly smart plus persistent. I haven't found any way to discourage them for good, but I'm not too worked up. They're an important part of my ecosystem and also fun to watch. I mix this product with regular bird seed to make it last longer and so I can offer different kinds of food, including dried fruit and mealworms. I recommend this product over the pellets that I used to buy that seem to have been reformulated. Squirrels don't care for them, but neither do birds.

Hot bird seed cheaper elsewhere
The bird seed is great for keeping squirrels away. However, I will not be ordering this item on Amazon any further… I found the same exact item at job lot half the price.

Bad batch of sizzle n heat
I received a package of this product thats so old and moldy the birds would not touch it. I am very disappointed at both the manufacturer and distributor for sending such a bad product. I subscribed to this product because birds loved it. Disappointed

Mexican squirrels (they like it spicy!)
Sadly it didn’t work. The squirrels were eating it up! We ended up going to the local specialty store to get a bag of the super expensive stuff that worked last time and they ate that too. We also tried another brand from TSC and they ate that too. So I think the squirrels have just adapted.

It really keeps the squirrels and chipmunks off the bird feeder!!

Product did not ar rive. Birds are not happy and are not al lowed to say that ob taining a re fund is a strug gle.
