To be honest I had pretty low expectations. I live in the south US where every summer has been getting hotter and hotter, and in my increasing desperation to find an innovative solution to the problem of heat intolerance, I splurged on one of these. At first it was just curiosity. I figured the only way I could ever try one of these was to buy one and if it wasn’t any good I could just return it. But no, this thing is real. You will still sweat when it’s 90° and 75% humidity, but you will no longer feel like you’re about to pass out from basic exertion. It still feels hot outside, but the heat is no longer debilitating. It has somewhere to escape to.This thing is kinda like a heat sink for your body. Or active water cooling without the water. Or like an air conditioner with no fluid coolant. And not quite as energy efficient, which AC isn’t exactly known for being efficient, so it takes a fair bit of juice. But the cool thing, pun intended, is that the cooling plates are also passively cooled by the fans. It pulls air through itself and draws heat away from your skin, directly through the plastic parts touching your neck. So even if the airflow isn’t to your liking, you will notice some passive cooling through the thing itself with just the fans, provided you’re in a somewhat cool body of air. But when the air outside your body is hotter than you, that’s when the fans feel like they just move hot air, and that’s when we switch on the cooling 😎 it’s powerful enough that you can switch it on and off as needed to extend the battery, and doing so is as easy as just pressing one of the buttons on the unit. It also can do heating, which basically makes this thing a complete personal temperature control unit. You can also use an external battery pack to greatly extend the already quite good battery life.I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. Although I suppose given the price, this is the level of quality I would like to be able to expect. I’m happy to report that for my own personal needs, it seems to be well worth it. If you, like me, find that one of the best ways to cool down is to stick your hands in ice water for about a minute, you’ll probably like this thing. As for wether it’s worth the cheese, the way I see it, you can’t put a price on your health, and if heat intolerance is something that you struggle with, well that’s likely to get worse in the coming years. Especially if you work outside.I’ll try to remember to update this review if anything changes after using it regularly.

UPDATE:After extensive use of this product I made the following observation:When it is triple digit heat and you get in your vehicle and turn on the Air Conditioner even though your unit will be doing it's best to cool your vehicle...your vehicle will still be warm inside while you are parked in idle.When you finally start driving and get air flowing through the hood of your vehicle as you drive down the road it will finally start to cool properly.This unit in my opinion when you are dealing with extreme heat outside is going to act much like my example with your vehicle above. It is going to struggle to cool you down because you are outside in extreme heat. Your body is essentially in a sauna.Now I can see when you have non triple digit heat and being outside where this may be very handy. It is an air conditioner and not just the basic neck fan.If you are in an environment where there is some cool air to work with then this unit will excel.Cool down after a gym workout or after a run.I do own a basic neck fan.This can be used as a basic neck fan.This is a 5 Star Air Conditioner around your neck that I give two thumbs up!I live in Texas and we have been experiencing triple digit heat index.I have had more than one heat exhaustion incident and I'm always looking for ways to help prevent from having another one.I stumbled across this while shopping on Amazon. I wanted to give it a try.Why this one? I don't need all the gadget stuff on the Ranvoo Alice3. I need something that is going to keep me cool. That is the entire point of me buying this product.I like how it looks...sleek.I purchased the one that the inside of the unit turns blue when cold and orange when using the heat. " ORANGE - BLUE".I like that you can upgrade the firmware and software and it is a very painless and automatic process.I like the fact that with the TORRAS App I can run everything from my iPhone.It has a timer feature, it can heat your neck in the winter, it has cooling pads on the sides and the back of the neck, and you can also run those just on the sides or just on the back of your neck. It blows air on your head and down your back. You can run hot on the sides and cool on the back of your neck or vice versa. It truly is able to run in a very customizable manner from the app for what you personally want. You can name it in the app.You can actually plug it into a portable battery pack and run all day with it cooling all 3 pads around the neck on max blast.The neck pad for me in addition to the sides and the ability to cool / heat / fan mode / the customization/ and being able to run it off a battery pack while wearing it is what sold me on this very product.It is one of the best purchases I have ever made and I use it daily. It is very comfortable to wear.I actually just bought 6 more tonight for family.I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you give it a try.My only cons with this purchase are not having a place to store the charging cable in the case. I'm also not a fan of the bungee handle on the case. I would have liked a very sturdy and tough carrying handle. If you tried clipping the bungee handle to a backpack or bag someone could easily rip it off the case and make off with your COOLIFY 3.As you can see my complaints are strictly with the case and not the actual COOLIFY 3.I hope they can come up with a case that does have room for the charging cable and come up with a better carrying handle.As long as you are in an environment that has some cool air to work with whether it is outside or inside this unit with be a life saver for you if you run hot like myself.Hope this helps.
