Great net!
Love this net! We saw someone else using it at the Bay and catching all kinds of fish (of all sizes) so I bought this one for my husband. We had to watch a video on Youtube to figure out how to properly use it - but once we got it down, it was awesome! He caught all kinds of fish (small ones) to use for his bait and to entertain our 3 year old. She loved playing with all the fish dad caught. We threw most of the fish back in (kept a few for bait) but it was just so much fun to use this net we had fun catching and releasing.

Worth having one
For the money this net does the job and unless you make your living off of fishing this will certainly do the job for the vast majority of people, myself included. The lead line has a tendency to get hung up on the braille lines for more than I care for though. So I'd really rate this 3.5 stars. I've owned Bett's nets and they are far better all the way around but cost 2-3 times more and the Fitec super spreader do ok as well but they cost about $20 more. A 7 ft radius/14 ft diameter net for $35 is certainly worth buying at least for a back up. I catch mullet ( finger mullet to hogleg mullet), gizzard shad and menhaden with this net very frequently. At depths of 1 ft to 10ft deep. Lead line weight is 3/4 lb per radius foot and 3/8 inch mesh.

Absolutely The Best Value, Fantastic Net
I have had so much freaking fun with this net. It's great quality and doesn't get tangled easily. It throws like a dream, it's a great first net.Sadly I busted mine on an underwater obstacle. Not the net's fault, it served admirably. I was heartbroken when I went to buy another one and saw they were no longer available :-(But I just checked today and they are back! I'm throwing away the other replacement net I bought because the South Bend and I were just meant to be!

Goor throwing net, right size.
Got it fast in the mail, got other items and free shipping. Do not want to put in my mouth to throw. Go to You Tube and watch a small kid throw a 7 ft. net. I say the line is to long, row the line around your hand and make it shorter. Wish it was made in the U.S.A. But would have to pay five times the price. Go in yard to practice. got it right one out of ten. It's a good net, good weights, I will keep trying until I get it perfect each time, and start catching my bait free.

Plastic Covered Weights
You'd figure if you buy a new product you wouldn't have to open until your ready to use. Glad I checked this time. Brand new net with zip tied lid. Figure I'd give it a test on my lawn before I took it to the lake since I was used to throwing a 6' radius cast net. So I unraveled the net and spred the net fully open in the sun to smooth out my new net and let it relax. That's when I saw a hole about 3" long midway down one side of the net. So I'll be returning the net. On the flip side. I did try casting it on my lawn and it opens way better than my 12ft. It does use the plastic covered weights. I don't know if it sink slower than lead in water. As for the netting itself it's so much softer than any of the nets from academy I've bought or from Waliworld. So I will buy another one since the test throws I did on my lawn was better than any of my 6'r cast nets. Both my 6' cast nets have lead weights. One is 1/2 the other 3/8. Both very used and mended so much it doesn't open smoothly. Hope this helps anyone because someone in the Question section said the weights were a soft medal. It's not. I'd prefer lead weights!

Can't beat the price or quality!
This net is exactly what I had been looking for! It was much less expensive than in stores, and I honestly think the quality is better.Follow the directions and you'll do great!PRACTICE!My husband and I have been fishing for years in New England and Florida but this was our first attempt at catching our own bait fish with a cast net. We took it out to the backyard and although he got the hang of it right away, it took me a few tries, so I'm definitely glad we practiced before taking it to the water.Love this!

Good cast net for the price
Good cast net for the price, I'm happy. Reasons for this bet not getting five stars:- Net is coming loose at the horn, moderate usage over 5 months.- Net seems coarse and even after a nice warm bath in fabric softener. Also is really fluffy.- Leash is way too short for me, I don't know about yall but I often times see bait and throw my net beyond its leash. Everybody know what happens then, your net closes or begins to close before it hits the water. This means lost bait.
