Good Rocks for Painting
I've been painting kindness rocks for the last few years, so I am always on the lookout for smooth stones to paint. The package arrived with all 60 rocks intact and the smallest and largest fell within the 2"-3" per product description (see photos). However, some of them are not completely smooth (photo). They were probably rougher stones that were polished. With a base coat of paint, they are fine. These rocks are a very good buy in comparison to other products ($0.50 vs. $1.00 per rock). Ideally, I would have given this 4.5 stars. It's just a smidge under five stars.

Not as explained
States 2-3 inch light stones. I have many one inch. Also they are to be light. When wet they are dark, so when you seal they are dark. Can’t see some images painted on them.

Family Crafting for All Ages
I can honestly say I've never purchased crafting rocks before. But I love to do a family craft for holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), and since I've never done rock painting before, I thought this might be a good time to get these. I have a large extended family (over 50 in our area), and grandkids/grand nieces/nephews ranging in ages from 4 to 23. Rock painting seems like a good craft for such divergent ages. This bag of rocks is quite nice for the purpose. Every rock is smooth as can be, and most are flat enough to paint a nice base layer, as well as a decorative element or sentiment. I did first wash the rocks thoroughly, as they were covered with fine dust. It's clear they had been washed prior to shipping, but I think just tumbling around during the shipping process produced a lot of rock dust, for lack of a better name. I just put them in a large colander, and rinsed them repeatedly, then left them to dry, and re-bagged them in a gallon size zipper bag. They are really beautiful, with lovely variations in color and pattern. I kind of hate to paint them, but don't know what else I would do with them. They vary in size from about 2-4", so they will fit all of the kids' hand sizes, right down to the smallest (age 4). Some of the kids have done rock painting before, so they'll be able to help their cousins (and me!). I will, of course, do some experimenting prior to the holidays. I did already put a base coat on a couple of rocks, just to see how they accepted the paint. I used a new set of acrylic paint markers, and the result was great! The paint flowed onto the rock smoothly, and a single base coat looked really good. I tried both the white and the black, and they applied well to the rocks, covering completely. Sorry I didn't get pictures - one of my granddaughters was here, and she wanted to take them home to finish painting them. I'm excited to see what my grandkids make of their rocks. I'll have sample templates for them, if they want to use them; but several of the older kids are great artists already, and I know they'll have their own ideas. Some of the kids may just choose to write something on them, either holiday-appropriate greetings, or to use as kindness rocks. During COVID, some of our neighbors made kindness rocks, and dropped them in the neighbors' planters, to avoid contact, and to make them an anonymous surprise. I think it's such a nice thing to do for anyone who might need a little encouragement or support in a tough time. I can think of lots of reasons to use these lovely rocks throughout the year. I got the 60-rock pack, but they are available in a number of sizes. I'm not really sure if the price of this product is good or not, as I have no frame of reference for rock buying. But I imagine, given the process of procuring acceptable rocks, washing/packing them, and then shipping such a heavy item, that the price is reasonable. Certainly you'd pay $1-$2 per rock if you purchased them at a craft store. I'm happy to have a large selection of them, and believe the kids will have as much fun selecting their own personal rocks as they will have painting them.

Rockin' and Rollin' - A Gigantic Load of Fun!
I recently embarked on a quest to unearth the most epic, paintable treasures known to humankind, and boy, did I strike gold! Or should I say, rock gold? These painting pocks are the Mona Lisa of the rock world!First off, let's talk size - these babies are no pebbles! At a whopping 2"-3", they're like the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnsons of the stone universe. I mean, who wants to paint teeny-tiny pebbles when you can unleash your creativity on these hulking canvases? These rocks are so large, you might even consider them distant relatives of Stonehenge. Now, when they say "flat and smooth," they mean it. These rocks are smoother than a jazz sax solo gliding over butter. You won't find many imperfections on these bad boys, making them the ideal canvas for your artistic masterpieces. I could run my fingers over these rocks all day, but alas, I have painting to do!The best part? You get 60 of these bad boys in one box! That's right, enough rocks to create a mini Stone Age village or your own rock-based army. And the price? It's so reasonable you'll be convinced you're committing some sort of arts and crafts robbery. But wait, there's more! I've transformed these rocks into everything from rock-icorns to rock-n-roll stars, and I can confirm that they take paint like a dream. Acrylics, watercolors, markers - they all love these rocks. And the best part is, they dry quickly, so you can go from blank slate to gallery-worthy masterpiece in no time.In conclusion, if you're looking for a way to rock your arts and crafts world, these rocks are a fun canvas. Buy them, paint them, and let your imagination run wild. You'll be a rockstar in the crafting universe in no time!
