Q: will day light saving automatically switch?

It does not automatically switch, but there is a DST setting. According to the manual:"Daylight Savings Time (DST):• To Enter Daylight Savings Time, press and hold down the HOUR (DST) button for five seconds while you're in the main screen. You are now in DST and "DST" will be displayed on the LCD screen.• To Exit Daylight Savings Time, press and hold down the HOUR (DST) button for five seconds while you're in the main screen. You are now in Standard Time and "DST" is no longer displayed on the LCD screen."

Q: Can this controller be used to operate and automate motorized window shades?

I would think so, if the shades are currently operated by an off/on switch. These timers really do nothing more than turn on and off the electric power to a device on a scheduled basis. If your shades are programmed, then I would think these timers would not work. But if it's a simple power on and off, then I would think you would be OK.

Yes, it fits on a normal decorator plate, at the same time it also comes with a wall plate.of its own.

This timer switch will fit in any decorator/GFCI wall plate.
