Q: What else is needed to hook this up to a cobra 29 lx cb radio?

This is oriented to VHF 2M 144Mhz / UHF 70CM , not CB 11M 27MHz. You'd need either a patch cable (PL239 males on both ends) or an adapter (back to back PL239 Males). I cannot recommend this for CB use.

Q: I have baofeng bfr-80 radio. what kind of connectors/adapters i need to connect this between my car roof antena and handheld radio ?

Usually ham radio mobile antennas connectors are RG-58 and will fit just fine on the meter. You will need a short male to male RG-58 cable (2 ft or less) to attach to the meter and to the adapter. Hand Held Radios like yours can be a couple of different types of connectors to your HT antenna. It might be female rg400 or BNC. You will need a male on one side for your HT and a female RG-58 on the other side to attach it to your Hand Held. If you can find a Radio Shack, they can set you up for an adapter. Take care..

Q: My 2meter/70cm has about 5 W output. Will this work OK on 15 W range setting?

Some say yes, some no, but I use mine on a similar 5 watt output HT regularly. You obviously won't get a lot of needle deflection or accuracy on the power measurement side, but it does work. The SWR side works normally for me also, be it on my 5w HT or my 75w mobile.

Q: Does one direct-read the swr reading, or must one interpolate, given the transmitter power? the instructions are confusing.
