Order came quickly and was as expected.
The paint set is a gift, so I can't give any feedback on what it's like to use. But it looks good.

Will take some getting used too
I’m not an experienced painter but after watching videos using speed paints I wanted to give it a try. Being new to the hobby these haven’t really sped up my painting yet. It still takes me a long time to complete a miniature but I like the idea behind these and what I’ve done so far looks ok. The colours are a good selection of what I assume are some well used colours. I think a little highlighting after using these with regular layer colours might be a good thing to do.

Quality set paints (no primer though)
Before getting to the paints, for best results you'll want to prime your models before applying these paints – The Army Painter do a spray can primer fr this purpose but it is not included with this set. This starter set comes with 10 paints, a decent quality small-ish brush and painting guide. The painting guides is excellent and more in depth than I had expected, certainly a great addition to a starter kit. The paints cover most of you will need and can of course be mixed together for more colours. There's no white, but as most of these paints are intended to be used as a wash rather than opaque coat that's not a deal breaker. Also importantly, the brush is a useful size for an all-rounder and holds its point (so far anyway).A good choice as a starter kit, just don't forget the primer.

The Army Painter Speedpaint Starter Set
I was really impressed with this starter set from The Army Painter. As a complete beginner to model painting, I found it very easy to use - the paint applies well and produces a great effect with just one coat, though I found I did have to add a little bit more with the lighter colours, maybe because my miniature had a grey primer. The paint dries really quickly as well - my model was ready in no time! The brush is good quality, and the set comes with a great range of colours, plus as you only need to use a tiny amount of paint, it's a set that should last a long time too, making it good value.

Quick color for detailed creations
The acrylic paint set was ideal for efficiently bringing miniature figures to life. The one-coat coverage was effective, especially for quick painting sessions. While the color selection catered to various themes, improving the consistency of metallic shades would further refine this painting set.

Nice little starter set.... Is it worth it?
The media could not be loaded. Please see my unboxing video for more info. The speedpaints themselves are nice but I found the metallic paint to be too thin and tended to bleed all over the place. At 35 quid this contains 10 paints at 3.50 each so represents no saving except you do get a free brush.Overall this is really nice starter set but is doesn't really offer any saving over the individual paints

Incredible paints
A fantastic beginner set of very high quality paints. It comes with 10 paints that include a mixing ball inside them and a pretty decent brush. You have enough colours here for the basics or for a single chapter or two, depending on who.I see these more as adult paints (perhaps I just don’t want to admit I’ve not grown up) but they do claim to be non toxic so should be fine for younglings although I would supervise if you can.A nice speed painting set for beginners but I do suggest making sure you have a few extra brushes if you can and of course for optimal results you’re going to need some primer if your models aren’t already.I remember standing in the local GW building decades ago drooling at the selection of paints and I’m so glad they’re a lot easier to get right to your door these days. Perhaps quite pricey as paints go but these are very high quality and well worth it in my opinion. You have some leeway with the opacity and there’s a nice little painting guide too.It may be classed as speed painting but I’ll take my time with these!I think the asking price of just under £35 is reasonable. Very happy with these, really great paints.

Good quality, fast paints with great results
I own several sets from The Army Painter, and I am always happy with them. This set contains 10 x 18-ml bottles of speed paint, which allows you to quickly get your miniatures painted up and looking good with a single coat of paint put on over a primer. This is very helpful if you have a large army to paint or if you are new to painting and want your army to look impressive with minimal work. The specially formulated resin medium in TAP’s speed paints allows you to swiftly and easily produce rich shade, highlights, and bright saturation. These paints are perfect for beginners but give such good results that they are also great for more seasoned painters. The kit comes with a brush and a handy painting guide to get you started on your painting journey if you're new to it, as well as some helpful hints if you've already painted miniatures before but are new to speed painting.

Great set!
I love these paints. Great coverage and contrast. Perfect for getting a really good paintjob relatively quick. I highly recommend all Army Painter paints, especially the speedpaints.

Good Stuff
With the exception of the flesh tone (Vallejo Pale Flesh) everything on the Iron Wind Metals mini is speedpaint from this set. Works fast, covers well and does exactly what I want. Just don't allow it to pool in one spot (unless you want that!). The Pallid Flesh, on the boots and the staff-head, works better with a white undercoat. Mine was Rust Oleum Grey.
