I missed that they were only glazed in the inside, but they make nice baking dishes.
I tried them out for two things today right after they arrived. First some baked mac and cheese. I made a boxed mix first, but I filled one of the bowls and puts some shredded cheese on top and put it in my air oven on broil. In about 5 minutes I had a delicious golden brown topped baked mac and cheese. Of course, I did have to make the boiled version first, but that probably saves on cleaning time. Had I baked it from scratch it would have burned to the sides and bottom.Next test was similar but a slower bake. I made some spaghetti, and added chopped grilled onion, real bacon bits, chopped pepperoni, spaghetti sauce, sauteed mushrooms, and a five-cheese pizza blend. I baked at 325 this time for 20 minutes. I saved half of each and put both in the same bowl, then cleaned out the blue inside bowl, and used it for some homemade soup I had on the stove. When I make soup, I often leave in the pot and warm in up over a few days till it's gone. My soup bowls are made of melanin, so they warp in the over or microwave, but this allows me to heat up without worry. I wish they had lids as I used a small China plat on top to prevent from making a mess in the microwave.I'm not sure this is really worth the price, but it's not outrageous, so if the quality holds up its a decent buy. One thing the rough outer surface does do well for me is I often take a bowl of soup or cereal out to my easy chair on plate. I usually put a paper towel on said plate as most bowls will slide and some past accidents had me breaking out the carpet cleaner. These don't slide easy, so the paper towel is not needed to create friction with the serving plate. I've tested on oven and microwave so far so it has performed well. They are good size so you can put a good size portion. Great for many baked dishes, soups, salads and others. In the future I might use a puff pastry crust and make a couple of medium chicken pot pies. I'd still love to get ones with lids. Recommended.

Very Nice
These are well made terracotta bowls! I am impressed with the quality so far. I have used one in the oven and it seems to heat evenly--which can be an issue with clay pots--and I also used one on a bed of ice for guacamole; it too worked perfectly. Being terracotta, these have a natural cooling ability if the non-glazed exterior is soaked in water, making them perfect for serving cool foods during the summer.I only wish they had lids, as I would love to try these to cook tangine style.Overall these are great additions to one's kitchenware and are highly recommended!

Gorgeous terra cotta bowls, oven safe
These bowls are absolutely striking. I love that I can cook in them directly in the oven, especially when so many dishes are microwave safe only. They are quite large and will fit a large dish or appetizer. Please remember to follow the instructions and soak these in water before using them. Although it does say these are dishwasher safe, I would suggest hand-washing for best results. These would make a lovely, functional centerpiece for your dinner table. Recommend, I hope that this helps.
