I do not believe this cable is suitable as it looks like A to A. I use it to power fans. It may connect a lone external Hard drive to a laptop. If you connect it to 2 laptops at the same time they will both try and power each other which could cause damage. Usually for this type of connection you would need a bridged/ “usb networking cable”.
