If your worried about steep hills/slopes you should go for a 2 stroke , they are lighter and slopes don’t bother them. No oil bath.

Q: I have a stretch of gravel between the store and the grass. Would I have to carry it or can I run it over gravel?

I only let mine run on the grass..... It would pick up the gravel and launch it everywhere... personally I would carry it, to avoid any damage to the machine at least.
