If moving from the wall in the hall wired in to a stand in the lounge do I need an additional back plate to leave existing on the wall any cover plate

Not an answer but I have the same question. Did you find a solution? I basically want to leave the wall plate as it is but also want the flexibility of moving it around if needs be.

Yes it has a cable and a transformer plug so you end up with a spare set which is no bad thing
