five stars for amazing customer service
after less than a year my unit started making an awful noise, and not functioning properly. reached out to chat customer care on the philips website. the rep was great. they have a new unit on its way to me, free of charge. i had my last sonicare for nearly 10 years, hoping this replacement will go the distance. less than five stars for the longevity of this unit, - but 5 stars for the great service.

Sonicare ... Step Up and Honor YOUR Offers! NOT Impressed!!!
I've used a Sonicare toothbrush for more than 20 years and have bought several. I've even given them as gifts. It has only been a few days but the 5100 model that I just received works well. Albeit, I'm not a fan of the (much) smaller brush head style. Really, does it save you (Sonicare) that much in manufacturing? The reason for this post is simply to ask Sonicare ... WHY do they NOT HONOR THEIR OFFERS?! A card included in the box reads, "Register now for 6 months extended warranty and FREE brush head offer." Oh, really? When you register the product it does extend the warranty for 6 additional months. However, it then informs you, "Sorry, the free brush head offer is no longer valid." What?!?! Why?!?!?! Companies these days have ZERO ethics! But it gets (almost) better. After completing the product registration they send you a "coupon" for a whopping 15% off the purchase of a new brush head. Then, 3 days later they send you another email that your whopping 15% discount offer coupon will expire soon. Sure, add insult to injury. I'm not impressed with the (very poor) ethics or marketing practices. IF THERE IS A CARD IN THE BOX THAT OFFERS A FREE BRUSH HEAD, WHY DO YOU NOT HONOR THAT OFFER?!?!?! Make your purchase wisely as your mileage may vary! Oh, and don't expect any "free" brush head, you'll have to purchase those at the regular (inflated) full price. Unless of course you use the whopping 15% off coupon! Just sayin'...

Better than my old toothbrush
We’ve never had electric toothbrushes before, but we thought we’d finally try it. Couldn’t believe how different my teeth felt from when I used the regular tooth. They were squeaky clean. Felt like I had just gotten a cleaning without the scraping, of course.

Awesome Upgrade from E-series
The media could not be loaded. Intro and things I like:I had the Sonicare E-series toothbrush for over a decade, and it started to not hold charge so well anymore, so I decided to upgrade to this toothbrush. The head on the 5100 is a bit smaller which I like, and the handle is also nice and slim as well. It's a fairly quiet toothbrush compared to my boyfriend's Oral-B toothbrush, which I love because I tend to be a night owl. The charging is perfectly fine and it lasts about 14 days without a charge, and will take 24 hours to charge if it's completely dead. The quality of this toothbrush is pristine, and this is why I decided to go with the 5100 instead of the 4100 because I head concerns about the newer 4100 model's build quality. There are no issues with quality for the 5100 as far as I know. I also love that it comes with a travel case as I am constantly on the go for vet school rotations. Some toothbrush brands come with a USB plug in style charger, but this style is much better because you can just sit it on the charger base without having to worry about plugging in a USB C cable or something like that.Using it:There are three different modes for this toothbrush, clean, whitening, and gum care. I use the traditional clean mode, and sometimes the gum care because it feels good on my gums. I love that the toothbrush has a very slight pause every 30 seconds indicating that it's time to switch quadrants, and turns off automatically at 2 minutes for "clean" mode. Apparently "whitening" mode goes for 2:30, but I prefer the "clean" mode. There is also a really awesome feature that you can set on the toothbrush letting you know when it's time to change the toothbrush head, indicated by the light near the bottom of the toothbrush. This is great for customers who don't always keep track of when to change their toothbrush heads.Cons I've encountered so far:The only con really would be that it comes with one toothbrush head. There is a little slip of paper that shows you how to register your product with Philips for discounted heads, but it would be nice if it came with at least two. Another thing that is probably just me, is that the black base for the toothbrush doesn't come with black heads. I think it would look pretty cool if the heads matched the base for a nice, sleek look. You can get matching colors if you opt for the white, but I just picked the option that would be delivered to me faster because I'm impatient.Overall:As someone who has always been pretty anal about her oral hygiene, I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a first time or new toothbrush to up their oral hygiene game.

Say goodbye to cavities
All my young and adult life, I’ve been plagued with tooth cavities. My wife has need using this same cordless toothbrush for several years. I broke down and made a purchase. Thanks to this toothbrush, I had not had a cavity in 5 years. To say I highly this Sonicare is an understatement. If it ever breaks, I’ll rush out an made another one. Amazon sells this toothbrush at a great price.
