Congratulations to Steven Goss, Robin Hummel, and Laura Zadoff on their terrific new book, "Transforming Online Teaching in Higher Education: Essential Practices for Engagement, Equity, and Inquiry"! While its foundation is in academia – and its focus is on teaching online – the numerous invaluable tools, tips, techniques, stories, quotes, and examples presented throughout this book will also benefit those who teach in-person, as well as anyone who facilitates any kind of learning -- either online or in the classroom. Kudos also to my NYU SPS DPB colleague, Negar Farakish, who provides numerous valuable contributions throughout this book, including a greatly appreciated reference (on page 73) to my “3 Vs” (Visibility, Voice, & Value) methodology that is central to my teaching, and that I write about in my book, VisuaLeadership.
