HAPDEN Heavy-Duty Grommet Tool Kit 3/8-1/4-1/2 for Tarps Farbic Flag

I used this Grommet Tool kit to make repairs to a polyester outdoor mural that goes in front of my garage door to create a villa scene. This tool kit worked perfectly. I was able to install new eyelets where I wanted to reposition them and the eyelets in the kit were strong enough to do the job. I did not use this on heavy canvas so I can’t give an opinion on that, but for what I needed, it worked perfectly.

Mines came in today and I could not wait to get started on it. I like the heavy duty material that it is made out of and it is built well. I also like that it comes with everything that you need to get started along with cutters and a carrying case. Definitely worth the money and it also makes a great gift

Great product easy to work with and is strong

It really worked well the first time. However, the grommet die set screw was set at the factory too tight. Trying to change those out for a larger size die because the set screw was over tightened at the factory was impossible,...until I used a lighter for 30 seconds on the set screw. It loosened immediately. One should not the one I was shipped would not pull off. Of course your experience may be different. The directions show the die just slipping off, but it does not and should not.

I did a few practice grommets to fine tune the process and then it worked fine.

The hole punch doesn’t cut the material very well, the grommets and tool are working good when I get a good hole cut.

Was unsure about buying but the tool gets the job done. I had to customize tarps and re-seamed the cut edges with Gorilla Duct Tape and put grommets on using this tool. The tool punched out the centre of the Gorilla tape while fastening the grommet on. Made the job easy.

I bought this to repair a tarp. The main issue is that the tool relies upon the grommet edge to punch the hole. Even in 1 layer of plastic tard it only punched the hole 1/4 of the time. Usually the grommet was set anyways and I could tear out the hole by hand afterwards (or just leave the flap in the hole). Of note: 1) The kit comes with a hole punch that you can hammer, but this will require you to remove the tarp from wherever it is to use it, so was not useful for my situation. 2) Even though the images imply that it comes with 2 different sizes of grommets, it only comes with the big ones. The tool would not have worked for the smaller ones anyways. 3) Don't even bother to try to get through 2 or more layers of tarp Overall it got the job done so I am happy, but a tool that punches the holes better would have been an improvement. The case is nice too.

Works like a charm, great for making custom size traps of different sizes. I recommend this product.
