Yalom Reader

Dr. Yalom writes so well, and had such a deep understanding of behavior, this makes for a fascinating read.

If you are in the field of psychology or social work this book is a must read. In the first chapter of the book, Yalom talksabout the book, The Theory and Pratice of Group Psychotherapy.Beginning with the therapeutic facotrs of how group therapy helps clients. My favorite story is "lying on the couch" because the story is based on an a psychiatrist who goes against the ethical standards in the field to help a client who is dealing with transference. There is a lot to be learned from the story.I hope this review was helpful.

Yalom, a social workers mentor! I have learned so much for the Yalom books. This book is a compilation of his writings and give a new reader a good feel for other books of Yalom's you may find helpful.

I read it not on kindle and even tho' ithas some 500 pages,heavy to hold could not out it down.It is so rich with thchthetrapyeory,extremely clear and stories to show what it is all about,its just great but of course only for people who are interested in psycotherapy.A grear book to learn from, read and re read i highly re command it.magot

A pleasure to read the ideas of an empathic and knowledgeable therapist. Irvin Yalom has been a great teacher for those of us who have learned the art of helping ourselves and others.

Has he written a book I don't like ?? No. A compilation of several of his writings. More informative and educational than entertaining.

Dr. Yalom is so wise. This is a great collection of his "Best of."

Nice book but unfortunately I cannot read it since the letters are too small ... maybe the edition in German is readable for me ...
