Racist?
It’s .... got some covert shades of racism. Did some digging and found out the author is a little suspect when it comes to white nationalism. It’s not written well. It doesn’t flow. It’s not ordered. But it’s basic and informative for mythology, when it’s hard to find anything out there on Slavic mythology.

short and sweet
Exactly what I was looking for -- quick references to some of the most well-known creatures in Slavic mythology, great foundation for further research, or if, like me, you're looking to understand some concepts for a book.

Read it!
Read everything by this author and climb inside the mind of the White Man, and understand the past, present, (and future) of racial conflicts in a whole new light. (A very White light, to be sure).

It's been a good and interesting read
It's been a good and interesting read, so far. Would be a little bit better if there was more info on the Firebird.

LOVED! for so many reasons
LOVED! for so many reasons!!! And I am soooo appreciative of the hard work he put into this book as it's one of the only books (especially in English) that gives great detail on characters like Baba Yaga who I've been digging on for months now. Just incredible! :)

Disappointing
I searched for a book about slavic mythology for a long time but with no luck, apparently almost no english litterature about the subject exists. I bought this book hoping that it would deliver but it certainly didn't. First of its bad printing, the cover is very low resolution and the typography look like comic sans size 22. There are many grammatical flaws that even I as a not native english speaker can spot. The book is also very short and vague, it uses nu sources and doesnt differentiate between pre and post slavic mythology. I rate it two stars only because it is almost the only english source on the subject.

Quick read - light on detail
I feel that it should be said I am not disappointed with the content of this book, more so a little surprised. It presents as a book from a larger series (when you look up the other volumes of this series on amazon), but what is not mentioned and needs to be said is that A) you require some foreknowledge prior to jumping into this book, as there are various references to things that are not explained in the pages of this volume. B) This book has extremely large print, and is written as a fairly basic level, which I said, not that I am disappointed, just surprised. C) The content is more so a high level explanation than it is a in depth expose of creatures of Slavic myth / lore. All in all, its an interesting read, but not one that should be considered highly academic, which is demonstrated by the many issues with the grammar / spelling (fair warning for those looking to understand ancient culture mythos in a more researched manner).
