Brooks Men’s Cascadia 17 Trail Running Shoe

I have been in the sportswear business for 35 years... specifically footwear. IMO the Hoka Speedgoat has way too much cushion and it supinates the foot as though you're about to roll the foot. Too much cushion promotes instability throughout the foot into the knees. The Cascadia seems to have the perfect blend of cushion with stability. With the Speedgoat every time I stepped on uneven surfaces such as rocks it felt like I was one wrong move away from rolling the ankle. As width goes I would call this shoe D- C+ across the midfoot and D+ in the toe area of the shoe. The shoe is designed as a "low" volume shoe which means the foot should fill the entire shoe with little wasted space. For someone that has a low instep, this fit design is perfect. For me, I have a high instep so the low volume fit now reduces the width of the shoe (making it very tight across the midfoot. For me, I tried going up 1/2 size and the Wide version. The Wide version makes the shoe too wide in areas that I don't want wide. I want the tailored fit, so the 1/2 size up was perfect. There is nothing wrong with more toe room.

My foot doctor said i needed better shoes for comfort and to alleviate serious ankle and foot related pain. Suggested several brands and this was one of them. Not cheap but definitely worth it. This particular style is very light weight but provides ample support and comfort. At the end of the day my feet feel a lot better then they used to feel after a long day. Highly recommend these as a daily work shoe or for recreation. I see a lot of professionals at the hospital who are on their feet all day wearing shoes like these. Two thumbs up.I usually wear a size 12 but just to be safe i bought these in a size 12.5 to allow room for socks and possibly inserts and the 12 1/2 was a perfect fit.

This shoe fits my foot very well and I also need the sturdy construction. True to size.

I wore these for a few days now and can honestly say these are very comfortable shoes. Brooks makes some great shoes so I knew when these came in there would be difference. I own about 8 different brooks shoes models, 8 different New Balance shoes, a pair of ON Clouds, and a pair of Hokas. I don't do alot of trail running bit I do alot of walking on trails or at work. These are very comfortable right out of the box and once broken in probably will be more comfortable.

Bought a EE size but it's barely wide in the mid-foot, toebox is okay, not anything special. The shoes themselves are quite good tho, the cushioning is firm but still very comfortable, exactly what I want for a trail shoe. The full rock plate does an excellent job of making rocks vanish underfoot especially when combined with the protective cushioning. The upper seems pretty decent but again could use some more width in the mid-foot area. Still easy enough to get a good lockdown. The outsole is mostly good, nice lugs, a good pattern and the split heel really soaks up uneven surfaces, the compound itself isn't the stickiest rubber I've used however, this is Megagrip levels of traction but it's not terrible.

Good looking sneaker. I typically wear a 13 x-wide in New Balance sneakers. This was a bit narrow in the midfoot which squeezed my foot. Overall length of shoe felt like a normal size 13 and the toe box was roomy. I would have kept these if they were a bit wider all the way through the shoe, unfortunately I had to return them

These are the best fitting and most comfortable walking shoes I have ever bought. I will be a returning customer. I am happy I learned about Brooks!

La zapatilla tiene poco que objetar, es un gran calzado para trail, de lo mejor diría Yo. Las cambié por otro color. Las azules son una pasada y además súper cómodas.

Habe jahrelang Asics Nimbus abgelaufen. War schon immer etwas schwerer und hatte oftmals Knieprobleme. Mit dem Schuh keine Probleme mehr. Gute Federung weniger Korrektur. Man gewöhnt sich schnell an einen sauberen Laufstil bei besseter Dämpfung.

Premier entrainement ' 10kms , des fourmillements sur plats des pieds , le temps que la semelle se fasse... second entrainement OK, toutefois pour l'instant au 2 entrainement sur le passage de la derniere boucle du lacet un bout de tissu a été rehaussé et cela crée des ampoules de chaque coté des chevilles, ATTENTION , frottement , voir soit chaussette plus épaisse , mais c'est genant en montée: pas super satisfait cette fois de Cascadia ...
