They actually taste good. Much better than my expectations. Guess I need to use a meat thermometer I cooked like I would for medium/medium rare and it was well done.

I made one steak out of curiosity, WOW! Soaked it for 15 minutes then grilled it for two minutes each side. I will individually vacuum seal each one individually to assure long life. I will buy this again for my survival stash.

I was surprised after soaking in water it looks like a real steak. I cooked it 4 minutes on each side to achieve medium. I let it rest and when I returned, it was well-done. It was tough. I will undercook next time and see how that goes. It tasted a tiny bit like liver, but passes as a steak. It comes in a bag full of air. Takes up a lot of space if not opened and if space is at a premium, for camping. Want to see if I can get ribeyes with some FAT!?UPDATE: I cooked these sirloins 2 minutes on each side, let rest, and they turned out well-done, and tough.Good if you are in a pinch, but if you are expecting the experience of a fresh steak, DON'T. I guess they are ok for long term storage emergencies. Overall, ok if you have space and need longterm beef.

I was so excited to find real steaks that last for years without freezer burn! This is just wonderful.! I love this company and hope they add more products to Amazon Prime!If I could improve this product, it wouldn't be the packaging, but I would love to see them use #10 cans, that are metal and float, just to match other items for long term storage. This would protect the steaks from rodents, torn holes in the bags etc. for long term storage. Storing in cardboard boxes is not ideal and the extra cost of buckets that only hold 4 packs safely is not economical. Just a loving thought. I'm not really complaining because I'm so in love with your FOREVER FOODS! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

In a place of earthquakes, fires, floods, electricity outages, and mudslides along with bith inflation AND shrinkflation it's important to have shelf stable items good for "long term."Up till now I'd given up the thought of "luxury" items as part of my preps. But, I took a chance and forked out the cash.And I'm seriously glad I did!Open, hydrate, sear, eat and repeat. This was my first attempt. And yeahhhh.... overcooked it. Should have focused more on the steak than texting. BUUUT....it was still good! I mean.... really good.Definitely happy with the purchase, and I'll be getting some more to tuck away.Is it expensive? imo...yes. Is it worth it?Also yes!!!

Cooks really quick. It's a bit chewy, but tastes good.
