This is a well made, solid adapter. The colouring is one of the most accurate I've seen to the MacBook 'space grey' shell colour as well. The connections are fitted really well and nothing is loose. The only point against that is the right hand screw doesn't screw into the receiving end all the way so it does stick up. This doesn't impact the connection however.It connected up my MacBook Pro 2017 model to my now ancient 20" Cinema Display. It's been great to use it again, but disappointing as over the years the brightness has dimmed and when comparing to the MacBook screen it's pretty much unusable if like me you rely on needing to see accurate colours on the screen.So I just enjoy the nostalgia and use it as a spare screen to shunt windows and panels.

I have a 2003 Apple Cinema Display 20" screen with the clear plastic feet and frame. I really like the classic Mac design, and my screen is still in very good condition. As with all pre-Aluminium Apple screens from the 'plastic Mac' era, it has a special ADC connector. To make it work with USB-C, it requires both an ADC to DVI box (to power the monitor and pass through DVI and USB) and this DVI adapter. If you have the newer Aluminium Cinema Display, this adapter should be all you'll need.Most adapters I've used with this monitor in the past haven't worked successfully with this setup (I almost recycled the screen because of it). This one, by Benfei appears to be the only one I've found that works perfectly for a 1600 x 1050 display when connected to a 2019 Macbook Pro or a new 2020 Mac Mini M1 (directly from the USB-C port).

It shows the monitor for around 2-3 seconds then stops; That said, I have had another one of these exact same adapters which has worked non-stop for 3 years without a problem, so I assume I have just been unlucky. I'm sending it back and will look for another one.Returned, ordered another one which worked fine and has been faultless. I guess I was just unlucky!

It effectively connects my laptop to an older monitor.

This solved s problem I had getting a 2006 Apple cinema here display to work properly with a 2018 max mini. The image was ghosting using the HDMI to DVI adaptor I had. Thought the display had died. But switching to this has brought it back to its former glory.

My Mac mini 2018 has an HDMI port and 3 Thunderbolt / USB-C ports. Since purchase I had connected my 2006 Apple Cinema HD display, that uses a DVI connector, via a DVI to HDMI adaptor supplied by Apple. The weakness of this connector was that, at intervals and often when rebooting, the display would switch to stochastic grey snow with only a ghost of the Apple Logo or other content showing. The solution – deeply unnerving – was to pull the HDMI plug and reinsert it into the back of the Mac mini while the computer was booted. While it was working it was great, but when the HDMI connection failed it involved a risky procedure that could crash the computer and lose unsaved work.The BENFEI USB C to DVI Adapter, Type-C to DVI Adapter [Thunderbolt 3 Compatible] is a commendably good solution. and I haven't had to reboot the configuration once in relation to this connection. It is absolutely stable in use, with precise pixel display – the HDMI connection on reset often left a single pixel magenta stripe down the left hand side and some screen flutter for minutes after a reset of the DVI plug.The only criticism I can make of the Benefit connection is that on waking from an extended sleep, there is a millisecond or so pale graining of the screen, that disappears in that blink. It usually only happens at the start of the day and other moments when the screen is woken this doesn't recur. From my perspective this is a world of improvement. For somebody who comes straight to this set up, this might present some minor measure of disappointment with the Benfei connector. That would be a pity and unjustified in the context of the measure of the problem being resolved. I see this as a means of keeping a beautiful old screen in use long after the departure of its paired workhorse Mac Pro 1.1 from 2006.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this to connect my second screen to my laptop, which it shows it does in the product pictures. But when I connect the connection is obviously not great as my screen constantly strobes, this is unusable

I thought my monitor was going bad, turns out it was just the adapter. This worked great, quality connector, great video quality.

Lo compré para usarlo con un Apple Studio display ADC del 2000 y una MacBook Pro 16" de 2019.Hasta ahora no me ha dado fallas, ningún tipo de flickering, y por la edad del monitor la latencia no me preocupa. Lo recomiendo ampliamente si tu caso de uso es como el mío.

I was looking for a simple and cheap USB-C to DVI adapter to work with an older Apple Cinema Display (23” not 30” that needs a dual-link adapter) and this fit the bill. Worked perfectly unlike some cheap adapters I got from local computer stores.
