2 Slice Toaster by WeeKett

Just arrived and the first slice of toast was excellent. This toaster uses good old fashioned heating tape on a mica board. Not as efficient as those using quartz glass tube elements with a reflector behind - but tried and tested. Doesn't fling the toast out with the enthusiasm that I had hoped for but good enough. So now added crumpets to the shopping list and will try those, soon. The power consumption is only 1100W. so not as powerful as stated and does take longer than my "quartz glass tube" toaster. However, that toaster cost more than double the price. Nice and shiny stainless steel (I hope, time will tell). So, reflective on the inside, more so than plastic, so the outside of the toaster didn't get hot. Bigger and heavier than expected. It is pure mechanical in timing - no electronics. No sensing of the toast itself. But did produce nice, evenly brown toast from a standard large 800g sliced wholemeal loaf.

Great value for money

Toaster is okay but there are some things about it that are less than ideal. The slots are long enough to do 2 bagels (unsliced) per side, which is good, but when it comes to UK standard size bread the slots are not deep enough to toast the bread in the upright position and are not long enough to take 2 slices (per side) at a time, so you've really got a 2-slice, not a 4-slice, toaster. It could do 4 slices of the small size bread, if that's what you're looking for. My other observation is that the build is a bit less solid than I would like.

Toaster works really well. Slots are big and wide. It appears to be very well made.

Perfect, easy to use, heat settings easily adjustable. Very pleased with toaster.

Unfortunately I didn't even get a chance to test the toasting abilities of this item, because the cable is so absurdly short it will not work in my kitchen. I have owned many toasters over the years, but none have had this problem with the cable being so short. Another problem is that the cable comes out under the toaster next to the controls, so if you align it perpendicular to the wall, using the orientation that has the controls towards you leaves you with about 10cm of cable to get to the socket, and if you use the orientation of the controls away from you, it's difficult to use because you can't see the controls, and the cable is still too short to reach the socket! I have never seen another toaster with such a stingily short cable. I don't understand the design philosophy, other than to save a couple of pennies on copper cost.

Works great and fast

Easy to use good quality different settings for how brown you want your toast slot size is fine could do do with the top part of the bread done but for me that's fine.
