Olympia Provisions - European Salami Sampler - 4 Pack Gift Set

These are the most tasty and delicious American made european style salamis. Be forewarned, they're kind of small averaging 4oz each not like their Deutschland larger ring salami cousins. However, a little goes a long way. At $60 this european assortment is the best value for the money. I previously had bought a single saucisson sec which was half devoured upon arrival. The chorizo rioja is pungent with exquisite notes of an almost creosote-like aroma of an old sailing tea clipper hold due to the smoked paprika. The Greek style loukanika has a hint of orange peel tartness to it, but I'm not a big fan of cumin. The Italian nola with allspice is mild and interesting but not overpowering. My favorites were the French saucisson sec which is a more typical traditional preparation with pepper and garlic and the Spanish chorizo rioja which is really good, although latino connoisseurs may differ in its interpretation. I suspect these sausages don't travel well and need to be unwrapped immediately to allow them to breath, cure, and to make sure their protective mold has not become excessively damp. Sliced thin and peeled they go wonderfully with hard bread, cheeses and apples. 🍽🥖🧀🍎😋🥰.

I DID NOT REALIZE WHEN I ORDER THAT THE GIFT PACKAGE OF 4 CONTAINED DIFFERENT SAUCISSON. THERE WAS A CHORIZO RIOJA (I HATE CHORIZO) AND A NOLA (WHICH I HAVE NOT TESTED) I ONLY WANTED THE SAUCISSON SEC. THIS IS ALL I WILL ORDER FROM NOW ON. THANK YOU.

Olympia makes great bacon, pate, rillette, etc. but their salamis are very bland. I'm sure the ingredients are great but the recipes are terrible. The forward flavor is pure fat and not much more. Considering their other products, which I really enjoy, I find this odd.
