Product Description The game is structured around a Robot workshop, featuring an array of components, including bodyshells, weapons and armour, allowing almost limitless variations of robot creation. And if you don't want to build your own or practise, you can select from one of the pre-built robots and get straight into battle. And finally--Robot Wars! You can select the classic television arena, or one of a number of international venues. Now you can go head to head with the infamous house robots, accompanied by a driving soundtrack and commentary. .co.uk Review As you might expect, Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction is the game of the TV programme. The aim, put at its simplest, is to build the best robot you can, and watch it destroy the competition--or watch the competition destroy your creation. Your first task, then, has to be to design your own robot. A visit to the shop lets you buy components, or, if the budget is tight, the scrap yard might be a better bet. Weapons, armour and power of some sort are all required, and if there's any money left in the kitty you can add some extras, even down to deciding a paint scheme. When you're happy with your robot, the battle can commence. The Robot Wars arena is reminiscent of the TV programme, and you could content yourself simply with building better and better robots with which to pound the opposition. Alternatively, there's a training ground for honing skills, and a robot trading area, where you can buy and sell bots. There are numerous playing options, ranging from a full tournament to a free-play mode in which you can choose a location depending on how many credits you've won in previous battles. Robot Wars is an addictive game which is all the more fun if you can play it with a friend. Let the tournament begin! --Sandra Vogel

Nostalgic but still horrible
As a kid I LOVED Robot Wars. It was badass! So you could imagine my disappointment when I bought this game and played it.I only gave this two stars as the game is jumpy, looks horrible and rushed, and gives you minimum freedom to do what you like; skirmish with custom bots e.c.t. The commentator repeats himself, the house robots are broken, and the customization of bots is very limiting. There are so many great titles of the PS2 era so the time the game was released is no excuse for how rushed and horrible it is.

Not as good as the PC version but still good fun
Bought this for when i go to uni so i have an easy game for my ps2. Basically, it is very similar to the PC version but just not as good. The PC version is much faster and has a market section which holds onto all your robots you've ever made, whereas the ps2 version doesn't have this, so you have to prioritise which robots you have. So its good fun but just not as good as the PC one.

Disappointed
I brought this game a few days ago, and disappointed to see the disk covered in scratches. Tried playing the game on my ps2 and it won’t even run.
