WHAT A GREAT DEAL ?
Thank you sooooo much Amazon for such a great deal. Picture quality, sound and appearance are amazing. I was able to use old the mount for this super 75 inch beauty.I also added service where Amazon delivers to the house and unpacksand removes the large box and checks that the T.V. is in good working condition. Sony is the TOP of the line. I can't be more happier. It was a gift to my daughter.

Makes For A Solid 85" HDTV Bargain
While I've had several plasmas and a potpourri of flatscreens I've never had an OLED. So, when I needed a HDTV for our pool house I was thinking about an OLED. With OLED I know it's close to any current 2024 state of the art. But I could not rationalize spending more than for a 65" OLED. I really didn't want a 65" HDTV for the pool house. I wanted a 85" model. That was a bit of a problem too because 85" quantum dot featuring local and/or mini LED dimming HDTVS (the kind that can stand up to OLED comparison) are in the 3K+ and up range. In my homes basement I have a 86" LG with quantum dot tech and area LED dimming...but that one was around 2K a year ago when I got it. The current model by LG was a bit more. Enter Sony. I remember in the late seventies/early eighties the gold standard it TV was the Trinitron. Over the years Sony has risen and fell and they're currently not just riding a rise, but continuing to ascend. This brought me to this HDTV. It's the absolute lowest priced model by a major manufacturer for its size at the moment. And that combined with it being a Sony interested me. I pulled the trigger and I couldn't be more pleased. I won't go into the technical stuff, but I sat down after a slow setup and was blown away. This HDTV really delivers. It's very bright with a wide angle of view. It is not one of those overly reflective screens that you have to juggle room lighting around which is a plus. In the end, though, it's the resolution and color that wooed me. Just amazing considering the size and price. I may not be as critical as the videophiles that obsess over minutia, but I know what looks really impressive and right. This set looks impressive, it does colors right even out of the box, and at the price combined with the fact it's a Sony. Well, I'm more than happy with this set. I do have a sound bar and for movies and music I highly recommend this as a required add-on. That's about it.

Cheap. Alternate Brands Must Be Better: Update 11/03/2023
Revised 09/19/2023I bought:Gvirtue Universal Remote Control for Sony TV Remote, Replacement for All Sony LED OLED LCD Bravia 3D HDTV 4K 8K UHD HDR Android Google Smart TV, with Netflix, You Tube Button and Learning Functionhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Z9B7SXX?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_imageWOW! No lag. Way more buttons to get where you want quickly. Did I say no lag?Throw away your Sony remote that came with this TV. It'll kill you!And you don't need to point it at the TV. It's IR but a cleverly placed LED lets you look straight at the remote and still get the button's press received by the TV. Did I mention no lag?The IR LED is so power-full that the signal bounces off ceilings and walls. This remote makes a cheap Sony TV very acceptable./End RevisionI've owned Sony TVs all my life (76yrs).They are more expensive but worth it.This is the first cheap Sony I've owned. And cheap it is (Stupid of me as this is like bottom of their line).Setup was excruciating. FÏinding the AC plugin was well not easy.Very poor instructions. It says much when you need to read the instructions (no manual)one page that folds out and out and... And I needed a magnifyingglass to read it. I think the AC port was shown but the quality ofthe diagram/print was poor.Google TV. A joke. No instructions.I wanted to add Sling to my Home page.No way I could figure it out.Google TV was supposed to limit the amount of steps/scrolling tosee/find what you want. Not so. A mess. Not intuitive. Irritating lag.Picture quality good. Adjusting screen parameters just fairly easy.I believe I've found 3 to 4 places where settings are made. Really?Changing inputs is not clear. As I write this I do not know how to do this.I did it once but don't remember how I got there.I'll stumbled accross it again I suppose. Instructions please! All in all very disappointed in Sony even for a cheap set.If I ever buy another cheap TV it won't be a Sony.Sony: How hard would it be to have navigation on a cheap set the same as yourmore expensive ones?Cheap Sony TVs have bad navigation.Spend another $1K with Sony to get a slick interface.Thanks... KenUpdate 11/03/2023: 2 stars -- 1 starBluetooth paired devices volume control via remote gets stuck on one volume.Only way to recover is to reset the TV.All settings lost.Google TV interface freezes ~twice a day.Sling app crashes regularly.Thanks... If it didn't have input lag - it would be 5 stars
This is a great TV at a great price.Picture quality is fantastic. The free channels included with Google TV (preinstalled) give a great selection if you don't have a cable package or lots of streaming services.Casting from my apple devices works flawlessly. The one thing they screwed up bad on is the input lag. On the homepage (not some wildly RAM intensive App) the input lag between button press and reaction on the screen can be upwards of 20 seconds...sometimes not registering at all. Despite numerous software updates they have yet to fix it. This is the one major flaw with the TV, everything else is wonderful.

Sony TVs Are back .. worthy successor to Trinitron
Sony is BACK! GenXer who grew up with famed Sony Trinitrons ( still have 1 for retro Nintendo/Sega ) .. This Sony line is WORTH the extra $ over these Hisense, TLC, and other 55 that maybe cheaper. I would get tis over its more expensive Sony model too ( more features but same technology/ chip ) … Sound is good but I still recommend getting the Sony ( $100) soundbar . It’s great pair.. solid performance. Not super top both good all around ( sports , concerts) . YOU will enjoy plus people take notes “oh they have Sony “ ..the expectations and nostalgia… it’s here
