My Kenmore fridge wasn’t closing properly. I have to force shut the door. I bought this fridge door cam and self installed. Now, the door works like new. Just a gentle nudge and the door closes. The cam will wear out after so many years of opening and closing. Replacing the door cam is easy for a DIY person. The freezer door cam is still good, since it is not opened/closed much. But eventually it needs to be replaced.

This review is for Kscjdg Brand 2182179 Refrigerator Door Closer Cam. The cam pair arrived on-time, complete and as advertised by the seller. It was used to resolve refrigerator-door-will-not-close-properly syndrome on my KitchenAid refrigerator. I used only the upper of the two parts as this was the worn one and easily changed by removing a screw (the lower cam is riveted in place on my refrigerator and appeared to be functional). With this replacement, the door now closes properly and remains closed under its own weight and the action of the cam.

This is the only product that states the difference between the 4318165 cam kit and this cam kit. The difference is huge even though the parts look very similar but you can still see a difference in the cam profile. When I put the wrong cam on the average temperature in the fridge dropped from 32-34 degrees to 38-40 degrees. I just ordered another cam kit for my freezer side door. Even the parts house I normally buy from didn't notice the difference in the cam profile design.

I replaced the bottom closer cam on my Kenmore fridge with this item. I noticed that the mounting hole on the new bottom half was oversized compared to the original, and thought to myself that it could be a problem due to the sideways forces that are applied to these parts during door operation. It worked great for about a month and then the bottom piece began to slip sideways just like I thought it might. I was able to solve the issue with a specifically-sized flat washer that fit in the hollow surrounding the oversized hole. It's been a couple of months since and it is working well.
