HORRIBLE!
HORRIBLE! This Tofeer Laptop Lock is the worst, cheapest quality item I have every purchased. Very DISSAPOINTED!

It's not super obvious how this works
Instructions not clear to say the least...either that or I am an imbecile. At any rate, to engage and disengage the lock, you dial in your combo and then use the knurled piece to screw it in or out. As you twist the big knurled knob, the teeth on the lock expand to secure the laptop. This is not super obvious. Other than that, it's a nice length of cable and relatively lightweight. Does the job.

Happy user
The instruction was not well written and the graphics need some improvement. Other than that, this is a good product with good quality in both the lock and the cable. So far, I loved it. The 4 stars are to reflect the poor instruction.

it could be better quality, but good for visual deterrent
This lock is a little bit of a pain to use, but once you get the code set up, it works well as a visual deterrent. If someone absolutely wants to steal your laptop, they will find a way, so this will not prevent those thefts But it will prevent someone who is looking for a quick snatch and grab, and unattended laptops are a perfect target. The cable does feel thick enough that a pair of scissors won't cut through it, but metal shears will. It fits my laptop slot well and is tight in there.

LOW quality and horribly designed
This is a very LOW quality lock and is horribly designed with very difficult functionality. The numbers are not only tiny, but VERY blurry to the point they are almost impossible to read and the locking mechanism is hard to use and takes way too long and you are not entirely sure if it locked. It also is at an angle for laptops that trying to see the numbers at that angle makes it a headache inducing experience every time. I ordered the Kensington N17 Dell Laptop Locks instead and they are excellent quality, function, ease of use and the numbers are perfectly readable. I should have just ordered those first. -Ryan

Works well on ThinkPad. Instructions could be better.
Once I figured it out I found that this device works well on my ThinkPad. The length of the cable is over 6 feet so it is long enough to secure to a table or something else solid. It isn't the thickest cable (which is good for travel) but it still feels solid enough to deter somebody from theft. The included instructions could definitely be better or they could have a QR code to link to a video to show how to use it because really it is pretty easy.* The instructions say to set your own combination you "press the back side button" but it took me a bit to figure out where this is because I thought of the front as the little end that goes into the laptop and the back as the opposite side of that (where there is a turnable wheel). If you think about the lock as a hairdryer with the air coming out where the laptop-side pins are, the lock reset button is on the bottom of the handle (see photo). You need a small screwdriver to press this in and turn so you can set your own combo.* There is no instruction or marking on the lock to tell where to line up the numbers. I found that this is on the back side of the number wheels where there is a vertical slot to show you where to put the numbers (see photo).* Once you have the correct combination lined up in the slot you simply put the small end into the laptop lock hole, turn the wheel on the back (above the number slot) clockwise repeatedly, and this opens the pins in the lock hole to secure it. Once you have the pins secure you mix up the numbers and then you can no longer turn the wheel.* To unlock it you simply line up the combination numbers in the slot and then turn the wheel counterclockwise until the pins are back together and can be removed from the hole.

Lock broke after 2 uses.
Very cheaply made lock - broke after 2 uses would not recommend. Spend the extra money on a better lock.

Hard to use - Not able to lock after setting new combination
I followed the instruction re-set the combination, then tried to lock the laptop, but the wheel doesn't turn. Very pool quality.

Works ok, a bit finicky and the lock stays pointed up
I like that this fits both of my laptops with different lock ports, but I don’t like that the lock itself stays standing up vertically from the the side of my laptop. Most of these rotate, not this one. The rotary knob is poorly explained in the instructions but just think of it as a dial that goes counterclockwise for decreasing and clockwise to increase.
