Perfect Plant Herb Learning tool
This book has been an excellent tool to complement my Herbal Medicine Course. It has helped me so much to empathically and scientifically understand the cellular structures AND get deeper into the botanical chemistry WITHOUT THE MATH! (whew!) It is ALSO a great ARTISTIC TOOL as I can see more clearly how to portray various structures in my botanical illustration sketches. I do recommend using the learning tool instructions about applying which colours- where. I wanted to jump right in and colour-but the instructions are quick and do make the visual understanding of several pages at a glance, more meaningful via the continuity of the colouring choices for certain structures. Such a Lovely Book!

Outline of pictures very bold
The outline of the pictures is quite dark and invasive, would have looked better with a more pencil like finish, but there is plenty of information on the pages which you can learn about while you are chilling and colouring

ok
I think this will be useful but many of the illustrations are too small and finely detailed to colour. It is more detailed than I need but I am hoping that it will help with learning the botany I need for my course (RHS). I am a practical/experiential learner and colouring and working slowly might help.

Plant biology more than botany
This is a really great book if you are studying plant biology, it is pretty thin on botanical terminology, which is what i was hoping for. Really useful book, love the style of the illustrations. Off to buy myself some new coloured pencils so that I can make the most of it...

Educational Colouring
I originally bought a copy of this for a herbal course.. I loved it so much years later I have come back to buy another copy. It is a book aimed at college learning. It is very educational and should be worked through slowly. If you use it as intended it is a wonderful educational and relaxing book. It makes learning seem less stressful

Makes learning dry information more fun.
Bit of a strange idea, but I like it! I am studying botanical illustration so I need to learn some botany, but find it hard to retain this kind of dry information. Colouring the diagrams really does seem to help my brain absorb the information!

An excellent academic book
A superb book - very academic - but the only page with any colour is the front cover - so probably not for budding artists
