My dog destroys toys! This one is lasting ages. Good buy.

I bought one of these for my dog in September. It's now December and he still plays with it but there is only one rope left, no squeak and not much stuffing, although it does still have a head. I have to add that I have an Alaskan Malamute so he's a big dog with a big mouth and big teeth; I didn't expect this toy to last this long. The most important thing is that he loves it so much. He's an older dog and I've only had him since August. He's only played with one toy out of the six that came with him but he has played with this one every day and it's been so much fun; sooooo.....I've bought him another one for Christmas. I hope he loves this one as much. I did rub the toy on my arms before I gave it to him to get my scent on it, whether that helped or not I don't know but he loved it right from the start. I'll do the same with the new one and get the scent of the old one on it, too, but I probably won't be getting rid of the old one any time soon :D It's worth having to buy two or three a year for the joy it's brought us both and on that note, I'd like to thank the manufacturers and the seller for several months of great fun.

I've bought three of these since July 2023, two being replacements because my rough and tumble lurcher puppy (now adolescent) is not gentle with his toys and does have a habit of disemboweling them to play 'find the squeaker'. However, that's not to say this toy doesn't hold up against his onslaught surprisingly well given it doesn't claim to be massively durable.Ears and tail will get chewed off first, rope pulled and frayed or chewed off. Eventually a weak spot will be found (usually the spot where the rope goes through the body) and the toy gutted. It did take him a good six months this last time around though.The squeaker is your usual affair once removed (best take that off them if they get that out) and it's packed around a minimal amount of stuffing. The head is stitched separately so even if they gut 'Scooby' they will still need to do extra work to get all the stuffing out. The actual material is very soft and the details well sewn - it's a visually appealing toy, even if dogs really don't seem to care. At least until it's chewed on, of course, then it looks rather sorry for itself, hanging limp from a dog that's very happy and pleased with their handiwork. It also holds up surprisingly well for a game of tug - even when they've opened it and got the stuffing and squeaker out.The value entirely depends on your expectations and your dog. If you have a dog that's a shredder or boisterous, temper your hopes for this to last long. You may get a few minutes to a few months. If you have a soft mouthed dog, or one that isn't inclined to do anything more than a few shakes, then it may last a lifetime. I buy them knowing I'll have to replace them in 6-8 months, and for me that means the price is acceptable. It's better than paying £20+ for a toy that's supposed to be for extreme chewers that gets pulled apart within a day.But my dog adores his, knows it by name, parades it around proudly even when he's gutted it. For me, that makes it worth every penny. I only knocked a star off because the first one I bought had a different kind of squeaker in it that was a lower pitch than the new ones and far less annoying than the higher pitched new ones when the dog sits there squeaking it all night.

Thought this would be great for our newly adopted jrt/dachshund cross and i was very pleased with it when it came as looked good and strong. Sadly 20 minutes after giving it to him it was one very deceased tug toy. Perhaps not recommended for demon Jack Russell's 🤔😂

I have been looking after my Son’s one year old Labrador Retriever who is extremely active!!!! I could see that he was feeling a bit anxious & having destroyed all the play things that I had to offer , I then searched Amazon to see what they had . This looked perfect as he loves a tug of war along with chewing. I was relieved when it arrived the next day & we couldn’t wait to unwrap it. Joy oh joy, a happy dog & carer!! I am amazed that already it has lasted 2 days, the ears & tail have been bitten off but surprise surprise the body remains intact & the chords are great for tug of war . Even the squeaker hasn’t been removed yet .🤞. As everything else that I had , had been destroyed , I have to give this five stars. 👏👏

I specifically looked for a toy for a large dog. Within 5 minutes both ears were off the dog and there was plastic in the ears which could be a choking hazard.Only gave 1 star as it looked good out of the bag.Would definitely not recommend

Brilliant toyMy one dog is a chewer but this has survived a whole month and is as good as bought. The live pulling the cord between them in tug of war fashion and it’s survived 2 labs playGreat toy & my one dogs favourite

Pleased with this purchase, it was for my puppy, it is good quality, good size,had plenty of stuffing, my puppy still plays with it and he is 6months now, so will probarly last for many more months, so it’s good value for money.
