This is great for birds but not only. I also use this for rodents that need to keep their teeth trimmed such as flying squirrels and rats but not only. It helps with their teeth and gives them calcium which they always need to help with metabolic bone disease. It also gives them something to do which is an added plus.

While this toy is inexpensive and seems to be enjoyed by my conures, it isn't a toy I'd be quick to recommend. For one thing, the stone part is super dusty straight out of the package, and the dust only gets worse when the birds chew it. That could be a respiratory hazard and it makes a big mess. Second, the bell seems like a hazard. The small metal piece that makes the noise is not super strong and was easily removed by my sun conure, which makes it a choking hazard, and it appears to be painted or anondized which is another hazard. Third, the hanging clip is one of the low quality springy clips known for trapping and cutting/scratching beaks. I will say it seems to help grind down beaks better than a wooden toy, but concrete/clay toys do the same thing with less mess and hazard. It's not a horrible toy, but it's not great. I would not buy it again or recommend it to anyone I know.
