This Dickies shirt was the best of the four and I will switch to buying these for my husband's t-shirts. Here are the details: I ordered two Hanes Tagless (a Hanes XL shirt, plus another in Large, in order to compare the sizes), one Russell Athletic (in Large), and one Dickies (in Large). Large is my husband's usual size, but based on other reviews, I didn't know if the Hanes Large would fit well. As expected, the Hanes Large size is 1.5 inches smaller than this Dickies shirt (shoulder to shoulder) and 1 inch smaller than the Russell Athletic shirt. In fact, the Hanes EXTRA-LARGE and this Dickies LARGE were exactly the same size. This Dickies shirt fits my husband a little loosely, which is exactly as he likes his shirts. Quality-wise, both of the Hanes shirts were far inferior to this Dickies shirt and the Russell Athletic shirt. Of all four shirts, the fabric of this Dickies shirt was very soft to the touch, and very supple -- no scratchiness at all -- thus much more comfortable to wear. It is by far my husband's favorite. One of the Hanes shirts is made of material so hard and scratchy (after washing), that I doubt if I will ever trust Hanes shirts again. It came out of the dryer with creases in the cotton because of the hardness of the fabric. The other Hanes shirt (same style but a different size and a different shade of red) is made of slightly softer material, but neither Hanes shirts were even close to the fabric quality of the Dickies and the Russell shirts. The Russell shirt wasn't as nice, but much better than the two Hanes shirts. Review: Great Dickies Quality T-Shirt - I have been wearing Dickies work clothing for many years, it's always been very durable wash after wash. This is the first time I have tried their line of t-shirts. Normally in a t-shirt I buy just a regular length shirt. This time I decided to try a long tall version. I wanted the extra length primarily because I get tired of my rear being exposed when I bend over! I'm around 6ft tall, and this shirt takes care of that issue well. Compared to my regular length Hanes t-shirts, this shirt gives me an additional 3 inches or so in length. The material is not real heavy, maybe slightly thicker than a Hanes t-shirt, but that's just what I wanted. It's extremely soft and comfortable to wear, and I am very happy. I have purchased a few of these, and plan to purchase more. I believe me standing at around 6ft, the long tall is a much better fit for me, and overall it looks better on me than regular length shirts. Although it is tagless in the neck area, the care label is on the inside bottom at the side seam. I don't find this to be irritating, however some of you might. At this point, I have laundered mine several times now, and have not had no noticeable shrinkage. I washed according to the directions, in cold water, and drying on low. I am overall very pleased, and hope this may help someone else make their decision. Thick cotton that seems to cool even while outdoors. These reminds me of the quality Pocket Tees my mom bought for me more than 50 years ago. These are better than named brands the cost much more.
