Awesome, soaked it in water and then applied to soldering area which was a very tight fit and all is good.

I waz able to complete my task. See the attached photo. I only did not find a way how to hold and sold at the same time when you alone. I think if you work alone you need to use type to fix barrier at proper position...

Good welding blanket - I really like the cutout to make it easy to position around a pipe. It has snaps to hold the blanket together after you place it over the pipe.The material is a bit thin for my liking - it doesn't seem very heavy duty. But I did use it for a project that required about 20 soldered joints close to a wall and the blanket did its job just fine - no damage to the wall at all. The blanket did smoke a bit the first few blasts with the torch, but then I guess the flammable bits burned off and it worked fine after that. After my project, I noticed the blanket started to tear a little bit at the hole. It can still be used just fine, and I only needed it for the project, but I wish it was a bit thicker and heavier duty feeling.

Had some soldering to do in wall and the blanket just barely fit in the space. We tried to do minimal dry wall repair but we should have just opened up the walls completely which would have made these unnecessary. This protected the drywall but since heat rises it ended up catching the insulation on fire that was about 2 feet away up inside the wall cavity. This turned into us quickly opening up the wall and ripping a few bats of insulation out that had quickly caught fire. So note to self, it works for things that are close but make sure the area is also free of anything you dont want to catch fire. Honestly if you can solder, its probably easier just to do the drywall work yourself as well.

Bought this product twice definitely worth buying for the price, works better than the name brand out there.

It’s really bad project it’s starting fire after I touch it with the flame

Used for soldering pipe inside house that was against wood. It kept the wood from starting on fire. It worked.!!!

My bathroom wall is waterproof foam board that most likely doesn't tolerate any heat. These clothes worked and allowed me to solder copper and protect my walls.
